When you think of Christmas in Magic Kingdom, you think of Cinderella Castle decked out in those beautiful holiday lights. However, we noticed one thing was missing when Disney shared holiday details today. Read on for more information.

Disney Very Merry After Hours

This year Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will not happen. Instead guests can enjoy a special themed After Hours event.

This is a special-ticketed event that guests will have four hours to enjoy the Magic Kingdom Park with low crowds.

No Dream Lights Last Year

Last year, Disney did not display Cinderella Castle Dream Lights. This was done to keep guests socially distanced and not have guests gather.

Instead, Disney displayed holiday projections throughout the night. Personally, I think the castle looks the best with the Dream Lights on.

The Dream Lights give the castle a look of being covered in icicles and snow! I love the Magic Kingdom decked out in Holiday decor, and the Dream Lights finish the look.

Something Missing

This year, Disney announced all the Holiday festivities that guests can expect to see. One thing was noted to be missing, Cinderella Castle Dream Lights were not listed.

Disney Parks Blog writes:

When the sun sets, special holiday projections will appear most nights on Cinderella Castle, alternating periodically with the castle’s transformation into a Beacon of Magic. What a great way to celebrate the holidays and the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort!

We can expect that these lights will not be on this year due to the castle be decorated for the 50th celebration. This will be the second year that these lights will not be on display. Due to the 50th celebration and the castle remaining decorated, we may not see the Dream Lights until 2023.

It really doesn't make sense taking away A Frozen Holiday Wish, the fireworks have returned which means crowds are cramming together to watch. It was my dream to go back to Florida and see the castle with those Frozen Christmas lights on, and now I am upset as it has been taken down. I cannot come to the parks often as I live internationally. I am very very very much hoping they will come back! Keeping everything crossed that they do, as Frozen is my favourite Disney film, and the Christmas lights are just magical and seem like the perfect way to round off a day or trip in Walt Disney World!

Thats the main reason my daughter and I love it at Christmas time! We stand and stare at the icicles. They are beautiful! Well I guess we will wait until they come back! Im not fighting those crowds with no icicles on the castle!

That doesn't make sense. The fireworks returned, everyone is crowded together like before. So saying that's a reason why they're not putting lights on the castle doesn't make sense.
