We have some news from Universal Orlando, and it’s well, pretty EPIC. Read on for the details.
Epic Universe Park Paused
Last July, work had paused indefinitely on the construction of Universal’s fourth theme park. Epic Universe was scheduled to open in 2023, but work had been paused until the future was “more certain”.
Super Nintendo World
Epic Universe will include Super Nintendo World, which you can read about here. The theme park is expected to draw fans from multiple generations. I know that I would be excited to see a theme park revolving around Nintendo World. How about you?
Work Resumes
Today, we received exciting news! Work will resume on Epic Universe immediately.
This is great news for the employees and for the economy in Orlando.
“The restart of construction of Epic Universe is a terrific moment for our employees and for our theme park business in Florida,” said Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO of Comcast Corporation. “It is our single-largest investment in the state and represents our enthusiasm for the spectacular park and the economic opportunities it will generate.”

The theme park will feature an entertainment center, hotels, shops and restaurants. It will be located a few miles from Universal Orlando’s current theme parks.
“We are excited to begin work on Epic Universe again and for what this moment means for our industry, our community, our business and our team members,” said Tom Williams, Chairman and CEO for Universal Parks & Resorts. “Our confidence in our collective future is as strong as ever.”
