Another Disney Springs Attraction Closed

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

We have been excited to bring news of the reopening of many of the stores, dining locations, and attractions at Disney Springs. Unfortunately one more Disney Springs location will have an extended closure.

Reopening of Disney Springs

Disney Springs reopened to Guests on May 20, 2020. Stores and dining locations had a phased reopening.

We were happy to report as many locations reopened. Find out about the latest reopened dining locations HERE.

We have seen brand new locations added to Disney Springs, but we have also seen some of our favorite stores close.

We have worked diligently to keep you all updated with all of the updated news regarding Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World Parks.

The Void

The Void is located in Disney Springs and serves as a cutting edge 3-D Disney themed virtual reality experience.

My son visited The Void a year ago and he absolutely loved it. He participated in the Star Wars experience. With the Star Wars experience he was able to join Star Wars characters to recover Imperial Intelligence.

Guests could also choose the Ralph Breaks VR experience. In this, Guests enter into the internet with Wreck-it-Ralph and Vaneloope von Schweets for an ultimate food fight.

Both experiences offered a great way to enjoy the magic of Disney on a non-Park day.

Announcement of Closure

In July, The Void location in Downtown Disney (Disneyland) was closed. Many wondered if this may affect The Void location at Disney Springs (Walt Disney World). Last night, employees of The Void were notified of the extended closure of The Void.

On The Void website, the company apologizes to their customers:

“As much as we would like to take all of you to a safe Virtual World right now, we have to do our part in keeping each other safe from COVID-19.

“our terminals are remaining temporarily closed for everybody’s safety and to support our local health officials and government leaders.”

The Void website

COVID-19 is affecting all of us- as employees, travelers, and communities- in a constantly evolving environment and in unprecedented ways. UPDATE: our terminals are remaining temporarily closed for everybody’s safety and to support our local health officials and government leaders. We will continue to monitor the situation and update our travelers with our reopening plans as soon as possible.”

The Void Employees

The notice on The Void website and the emails sent to Guests indicate that this is a temporary closure. The Void employees were on furlough until the end of August. As the end of August approaches, The Void employees are instructed “to seek out new employment given the uncertainty of the short-term future.”

We hope that The Void may be able to reopen, but it appears from this note to employees that they are not anticipating a reopening in the near future.

THe Void employees were instructed, “To seek out new employment givent the uncertainty of the short-term future.”

What do you think of this extended closure? Have you visited The Void in the past? Will you be hoping to visit The Void in the future if they are able to reopen? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.
