While parks, beaches, conferences, and sporting events are shutting down, Disney’s Hilton Head and Vero Beach have also made the decision to temporarily close. Read on to see when the closure takes place and for how long.

We all knew tourist destinations would eventually close, and other Disney destinations are no exception.

Disney’s Hilton Head

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is located on the picturesque coast of South Carolina, only 5 hours from Walt Disney World Resort.

According to the Hilton Head website, this elegant, relaxing home-away-from-home—fashioned after a 1940s hunting and fishing lodge—combines local charm and simple pleasures with outdoor fun for the entire family.

The resort features multi-roomed villas and many recreational activities, including 12 miles of heavenly beaches.

Disney’s Hilton Head is one of the Disney Vacation Club properties not located at Disney World or Disneyland. Aulani, located in Hawaii, and Disney’s Vero Beach are the other two DVC properties.

Disney’s Vero Beach

Relax on warm sand and play in the sparkling blue waters of Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.

Per the Disney Vero Beach Resort website, the resort is just 2 hours southeast of Walt Disney World Resort. This elegant old-fashioned hideaway is located on Florida’s scenic Atlantic Treasure Coast near the charming community of Vero Beach.

Get away from it all in spacious lodgings that provide the comforts of home with an idyllic beach practically at your doorstep.

Closure of Hilton Head and Vero Beach

Along with Disney Resorts, Disney’s Hilton Head and Vero Beach will temporarily close beginning Friday, March 20 at 5:00 pm. This will give Members and Guests the ability to make necessary travel arrangements or book alternative accommodations.

The closure will last through the end of the month. So far, almost all theme parks, resorts, Disney Springs, and other Disney properties will reopen on April 1. However, the CDC has made new recommendations, which could delay the reopening.

What about Aulani Resort?

Aulani Resort, which is located in Hawaii, is the only Disney property that has not announced a closure yet.

We will keep you informed when/if an announcement is made regarding the closure of Aulani.
