Enchanted is one of my favorite Disney live action movies! From the quirky characters to the creative plot, it’s got something for everyone. We’re so excited to announce there will be a sequel! Read where it will be released here…

Original Enchanted Movie

Before sharing about the sequel, I’ve just gotta’ share about the original Enchanted movie in case you haven’t seen it.

Enchanted was released in 2007, and we still watch it every chance we get! In the movie, Giselle (Amy Adams) is slated to become princess, until she’s banished from the animated land of Andalasia.

She finds herself in real-life Manhattan, and as you can imagine, has no idea what’s going on. A divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) finds himself drawn to her, but also thinks she’s a little crazy.

To thicken the plot, there’s a prince (James Marsden) from Andalasia seeking her attention. This movie is a lighthearted and surprisingly witty movie that people of all ages enjoy.

As of now, Enchanted is not being offered on Disney+. Hopefully, that will change soon with the announcement of the upcoming sequel!

Adam Shankman (who will be directing Disenchanted) announced the sequel officially on his Twitter account. He’s also producing the Hocus Pocus sequel on Disney+. I can’t wait to watch this also! Read more about it here.

Disenchanted will be produced by Walt Disney World along with Barry Sonnenfield and Josephson Entertainment. The movie is written by J. Davis Stem and David N. Weiss.

So excited that per Adam Shankman Disenchanted will be a theatrical release!!

What happens after “Happily Ever After”?

Per Disney: “Ten years after her happily ever after, Giselle questions her happiness, inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process.”

Disenchanted is currently in the pre-production phase. There are many movies that premiere around Thanksgiving and Christmas, but that’s pure speculation at this point. Check for updates and official release date on KtP Facebook Page. We will update as we get that information!

Disney has also announced plans for a Beauty and the Beast live action prequel. Check out the details here from a fellow KtP writer.
