Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is making news again today. This time, it is for being recognized for an award!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the newest ride at Hollywood Studios puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
Each year, the Visual Effects Society (VES) recognizes outstanding visual effects in film, television and other media with the annual VES Awards.
Last night, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance received an award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project! Congratulations to all of the Imagineers and everyone at Lucasfilm, Ltd.!
Recently, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has also been given other industry nods. Among them are being named TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places 2019 and Outstanding Achievement – New Park Land by the Themed Entertainment Association.
Just last week, the land also won a GRAMMY award for its music.
It is not hard to see why there are so many awards and industry nods. Some guests say the Rise of the Resistance is the BEST ride ever and I have heard nothing but great things! I cannot wait to ride!
The popularity of the ride has caused Hollywood Studios to constantly move their park hours and open earlier or remain open later. We have seen several adjustments to park hours, most recently changes to their February and March hours.
