Riviera Resort Dining and Drinks

Bar Riva

Bar Riva is located beside the family pool area and offers a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Here’s the menu that is offered a Bar Riva.

Bar Riva offers a limited seating area, but has a nice, open appeal.

Primo Platto

Primo Platto is the fast casual food offering at the Riviera Resort. It provides guests an opportunity to receive quality, freshly prepared food and still use your Disney Dining Plan Counter Service credits.

The decor is simple and clean and it includes many of those great Walt Disney on vacation photos that we saw near the lobby area earlier. There are a variety of booths and tables, but you want to know about the food, right?

Before we talk about the menu, I’ll mention that you order your food from the front register areas, then your food is freshly prepared, placed on actual plates and served hot by a caring staff.

The menu is sure to please every member of your party as they offer fresh salads, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, wraps and hot dishes. I tried the Hearth baked pizza! The burgers looked like prime, artisanal burgers, not the ones you receive in the theme parks.

Kids meals include Chicken Strips, Pizza, Burgers, Pasta, Grilled Chicken and Shrimp. Even picky eaters should be satisfied. The drink refill station is a Coke Freestyle machine as well!

This is not the usual “flatbread” that you find the in parks! This a freshly prepared, hand stretched dough with delicious toppings. I would compare it to any pizza that you could order in the Orlando area. It was hot, tasty and filling. The hearth gives it that nice crunch and slightly toasted appeal.

The Cast Members bus the tables for you as well.

Beside the fast-casual restaurant is a small self-service snack area that provides baked goods, drinks, grab and go sandwiches, fruit and the like. How awesome are these cookies!?!

If you try the gelato, please let me know what you think. I can no longer eat sugar sweet items, so I’ll rely upon your review.

An example of some of the costs for the beverages here. You’ll notice that most items are considered a snack on the Disney Dining Plan.

Topolino’s Terrrace

Topolino is the name given to Mickey Mouse in Europe. As you can see from the entry area there is a hidden (?) Mickey right on the top of the logo. This is a Table Service location and it does accept Table Service credits for the Disney Dining Plan. Reservations are suggested.

Topolino’s is a stunning restaurant with a wide variety of freshly prepared dishes. It also offers gorgeous views from the 10th floor of the tower!

Check out the lighting feature!

There are a variety of booths and tables available.

If you are seated near the kitchen, you catch watch the process as the chefs prepare your hand-crafted dishes.

This is a typical place setting at Topolino’s.

Because I was given free reign a few minutes before the restaurant opened to guests, I had to take a couple of minutes to attempt some artsy photos!

The outdoor bar is simple and elegant with blue highlights that might remind you of Greece and comfortable chairs and couches. There is a small bar outdoors as well.

But look at this view! Wow! You can see for miles and it’s a great view of the up coming Caribbean Beach resort on one side.

On the opposite side, you can see the Skyliner coming and going.

I did not have the opportunity to examine a room up close because they were setting up for VIP arrivals and I didn’t want to impede that progress. Based on all the public areas that I was offered, this resort is first class! I can see myself booking a staycation here next summer for some relaxation.

You can easily access Hollywood Studios and Epcot by using the Skyliner and use bus transport to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. If you have the DVC points available, I would suggest booking a stay here and letting us know what you think.

Or just book a meal at Topolino’s and provide us with your review. I hope you enjoyed this lengthy review. Please share the post with your friends on Facebook!
