How to Meet Star-Lord and Baby Groot at Walt Disney World

Star-Lord and Baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2  are now meeting guests in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World! Keep reading for more details on how to meet them.

Hey guys it’s Jordyn, KennythePirate’s daughter! Just wanted to give a quick introduction, because you will be hearing from me a lot more this summer. I am very excited to be joining the KtP crew this summer and providing you with new, fun content!

Now, back to the real reason you are all here: Star-Lord and Baby Groot! They are now meeting inside the Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream. This building is located between Pixar Place and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

I visited them around 2:00pm in the afternoon and there were was only one sign, outside of the building, directing me to their meet and greet area. The sign shows the estimated wait time we added the meet to Character Locator to provide the schedule and some fun tips.

To get to the actual meet and greet, you will need to walk through the until your reach the back of the building.  The green wall, located next to Abraham Lincoln’s animatronic is marked “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” to better direct you to the Star-Lord and Baby Groot.

Before entering the room, there is a poster indicating the estimated wait time and meet and greet hours.  This wait time listed on this poster was different than the initial poster on the outside of the building.

The sign said 40 minutes but, I only waited 18 minutes!

The queue for this meet is similar to the unusual Moana queue as it has arrows printed on the ground to direct the line. No cast members assisted me in line but, I did hear them helping others that joined later.

The walls are themed with galaxy images and fun, moving star projections to create a space-like atmosphere for the meet. This room really makes me want to get into a spaceship and float among the stars and nebulae!

Right before turning into the actual meeting area, there looks to be a big, round door. Could there be secrets of the galaxy hiding behind that door?

If you make a sharp right, well, from the looks of it, we are on a spaceship! Star-Lord walks around and greets guests as Baby Groot interacts with them from a big table that is covered in various ship pieces.

The first thing Star-Lord asked me was if I had seen Gamora or Dax. He said he was planning on teaching them a very fun dance move that Groot helped him with.

Star-Lord showed me the fun dance move and I joined along with him. Baby Groot replied “Ooooh, I am Groot.”

Before leaving, I asked for a quick selfie so I could get a closer picture with both Star-Lord and Baby Groot (especially Baby Groot-he is the cutest).

Star-Lord does autograph for himself, at this time, but Groot is not able to sign.  He is just a tiny tree, after all.

It’s a fun meet and greet, but there’s no way to know how long it will last, so be sure to meet him soon!
