Disney confirms May 27, 2017 opening date for Pandora - the World of Avatar
Bob Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company just confirmed that Pandora - The World of Avatar will open on May 27th at Disney's Animal Kingdom as I had predicted previously.

Disney - This new land will transport guests to the visually stunning world of Pandora. Here, guests will wonder at floating mountains and bioluminescent plants, and can join the Na'vi on two excursions that take adventure to the next level.
First, the family friendly Na'vi River Journey will send guests through a bioluminescent rainforest. Their journey will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na'vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. And second, Avatar Flight of Passage will offer guests the jaw-dropping experience of exploring the world of Pandora atop a Banshee.
Guests will also be able to dine at Satu'li Canteen, grab a drink at Pongu Pongu or shop for Na'vi cultural items, toys, science kits, and more at Windtraders.
We live an hour away so I think we can wait until fall when the park thins out a bit. But thanks so much for all the information you always provide.
Any idea if they will still do a soft opening of the area or rides before May 27?

Do we know if the Satu’li Canteen is quick service or table service? And if it is Table service...when do you predict they will start taking reservations?
We have our trip booked May 20-31...SO EXCITED to be there opening day!

We are booked June 1-9. I hope this doesn't make Animal Kingdom crazy crowded while we are there.

Not to sound stupid, but I just want to be clear I understand correctly - there are 2 new separate rides as part of this project- river ride and banshee flight one?

With an open date released, when would fastpasses start to become available typically? Trip planned June 3-10. Will touring plans change much?
Hopefully they release at 60 days out, but we'll see. Plans that include the new rides will come soon after I do some testing

This is perfect timing for my June/July trip. Maybe they'll even be able to get Rivers of Light to open too. FYI -The video comes up as "private" when I tried to watch it.
