Rivers of Light Dining Package info. Read this and share.
People are claiming that Rivers of Light wont open and the Dining Package won’t be released until May1, 2017, but the Disney Dining page (link no longer works) basically just repeated the info that was listed in April 2016. At that time the package was supposed to release May 2016. That’s why it left off Tiffins (it wasn’t open yet) Blogs are claiming that this is BREAKING or EVIDENCE that the show begins May 1, 2017. The dining page just says May 1. It doesn’t say 2017.
Here’s the actual text from the page linked above:

Showstopping Suppers
The only fact that I do know for certain is that the Cast Members who provide seating assistance were recently training overnight for several nights. Disney has made no announcement concerning the opening of this long-delayed show.
KtP – Perhaps it will open then, who knows? But to present it as fact, when it doesn’t say that is a reach. Here’s hoping they have it working for the busy holiday period from Thanksgiving through New Years!

This is probably our last visit "home" because of health and other issues. When we were there last Dec was assured it would be up and running this spring , then early summer, then late summer.. now we arrive tomorrow, and it's still not certain when it will open☹️☹️☹️☹️

We are going in Jan 2017. What is the best fastest way to stay on top of this to find out sufficiently ahead of time to get reservations? I called Disney and the cm told me that there is no time table set for opening and that she could not make me reservations for something that didn't exist yet. She suggested to keep checking the mydisneyexperience.com website.

I think I sent this before, but on a recent vacation to Disney ( 3 weeks ago) a cast member at the animal kingdom to me in a long conversation about many things that the tentative plan was to do a soft opening and rollout in early November. That he has seen the practices that have been going on and says it is fantastic but they were working on things to get it ready to go. I don't know how accurate this is but he seemed pretty confident and he has worked at the Animal Kingdom for almost 4 years. I hope this helps
