Big Thunder Mountain Reopens
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad officially reopens today, May 3, 2026, at Magic Kingdom. You can check out the 4 BIG changes coming to this attraction HERE.
After being closed for over a year, Magic Kingdom debuts a brand new park map, noting that this fan-favorite attraction is now "Refreshed!"
Along with receiving a brand new track and theming elements, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad also offers a lower height restriction for Guests.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Closed
Large crowds arrived at Magic Kingdom today to enjoy the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Guests endured long wait times to enjoy this newly refreshed attraction.
What many Guests were not expecting to see was the entire queue to be evacuated due to an emergency. According to reports, a fire sparked at the loading/unloading area of the attraction.
Cast Members responded quickly with a fire extinguisher.
