Entertainment Surprises at Disney's Hollywood Studios
After closing Animation Courtyard, Disney's Hollywood Studios is bringing great entertainment and characters as new magic takes shape in this deserted land.
Rare Characters at Hollywood Studios
This summer was extra magical with "Cool Kid Summer," and we were really sad to see many of these special offerings end. Thankfully, Disney still has a few fun surprises in store for Disney's Hollywood Studios.
When Animation Courtyard officially closed on September 25, 2025, it closed two key character locations with Star Wars Launch Bay and the Disney Junior meet and greet locations.
While Chewbacca and Darth Vader were relocated with this closure, the Disney Junior characters have been missing. This morning, Guests were greeted with 4 great rare character interactions. Check out who we spotted at Hollywood Studios HERE.
HollyGroove Swinging Band
Along with these fun character interactions, we also enjoyed new entertainment with the HollyGroove Swinging Band. This is such a fun addition, taking our favorite Disney classics and giving them a fun twist.
This four part band entertained Guests near Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. The best part is that the band interacts with the Guests offering great entertainment.
Currently, HollyGroove Swinging Band does not have showtimes listed on the My Disney Experience app.
New Juggling Show
We feel as though this is an infomercial, "But wait, there's more." Donald Duck was quite intrigued by another new performance by "That's a Record". There is juggling, there is comedy, and a whole lot of fun with this street performer.
Two new entertainment options and 4 character interactions debuted today at Hollywood Studios.
These are great additions to Disney's Hollywood Studios that we hope will continue daily. We are curious if this may be similar to the entertainment and character interaction Disney promised when the Animation Courtyard reopens as "Magic of Animation".

“Disney Junior characters have been missing”, what are you talking about, they’re permanently retired from any daily appearances
When Animation Courtyard was open, Guests could meet a variety of Disney Junior characters such as Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, and Vampirina. When Animation Courtyard closed, these meet and greets closed as well. We had hoped that they would greet Guests at other locations in the park.
