Warning Issued for Magic Kingdom Guests

Guests hoping to soak in the Disney magic are now issued a warning that may affect their park plans.

The Disney Parks try to notify guests as quickly as possible when attractions may be closed, inclement weather may be approaching, canceled entertainment and much more.

There is so much change on the horizon for The Magic Kingdom. Several rides are being refurbished this year, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Thunder Mountain is expected to stay closed until April 2026.

Magic Kingdom will also welcome two new lands with Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land.

Magic Kingdom Warning

Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom today, July 6th, now have a warning on the My Disney Experience app. The notification warns guests that today is the final day to enjoy both Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat.

The warning reads, "The last day to experience Tom Sawyer Island/Liberty Square Riverboat is July 6. The location will close permanently on July 7 to make way for the largest expansion in history at Magic Kingdom."

Tom Sawyer Island is open from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm, and the Liberty Square Riverboat is open from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. Operational hours are always subject to change if needed.

Attraction Closings

Large crowds often arrive for an attraction's final day of operation. While many guests like to be among the last guests to enjoy the attraction for the final time.

When Muppet Vision 3D closed, Disney distributed wristbands for the final performance of the day. Disney has now issued wristbands for the final voyage of the Liberty Square Riverboat. If you hope to enjoy these attractions today, plan to visit them early to beat possible large crowds.
