There is never a good time for a refurbishment at Disney, but especially not during the busy summer season. Now, this Magic Kingdom location is completely missing.
Disney Summer Crowds

Although no one likes refurbishments, they are occasionally needed. This is unfortunate for guests visiting the Magic Kingdom during the busy summer season.
In just a few days, we will see the start of “Cool Kid Summer” beginning May 27 through September 1, 2025. Disney will host a full lineup of limited-time summer activities throughout Walt Disney World.
New entertainment debuts this summer at Walt Disney World. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Both “Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After” and “The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure” will open on May 27, 2025. “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” will delight Magic Kingdom guests as the sun sets. See our guess for when this parade will debut HERE.
Magic Kingdom Closure

Magic Kingdom has been plagued with lengthy refurbishments. In Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad remains closed until next year. In Adventureland, guests can hear construction around Pirates of the Caribbean for the new Beak and Barrel Lounge.
The landscape of Tomorrowland looked quite different as the entire Astro Orbiter attraction was removed. Portions of this attraction have returned as it is reassembled. Astro Orbiter is set to reopen this summer.
Earlier this week, we noticed construction walls surrounding the Cool Ship quick service kiosk in Tomorrowland. Yesterday, May 23rd, the Cool Ship building was completely missing.
When will this reopen

The Cool Ship closure was unexpected and definitely changes the look of Tomorrowland. According to the Walt Disney World website, Cool Ship “is expected to reopen later this year.” It is uncertain if major changes will be made to the look of this kiosk when it returns.
The entire Cool Ship kiosk is missing at Tomorrowland.
While the Cool Ship is closed, you can still find refreshments while adventuring through Tomorrowland at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, The Lunching Pad, Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, and Energy Bytes (near TRON Lightcycle.
