Disney’s Port Orleans consists of both Riverside and the French Quarter. Port Orleans French Quarter features great theming throughout the resort that allows guests to feel as though they are in the middle of a Mardi Gras parade.

There is so much to absolutely love about Port Orleans French Quarter with the great theming, the Scat Cat’s Lounge, and delicious beignets. The one thing that is lacking at this resort is in the actual resort rooms.

In April 2024, Disney announced a rather lengthy refurbishment scheduled for Port Orleans: French Quarter. This included a large makeover of resort rooms. Originally, refurbishment was set to end in November 2024, but was later extended into spring 2025.

Now officially completed, Disney’s French Quarter features over 1,000 newly refurbished rooms. We love the colorful patterns, fun nods to Mardi Gras with artwork from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.

If you love searching for hidden Easter eggs, you will love the intricate detailing on the bathroom door and mosaic-style pattern above the beds. Look closely and you may find and Tiana’s sparkling tiara and even drums and trumpets.

The bathrooms also received a much-needed change, allowing for more counter space and storage along with more modern finishes.

Along with the Resort rooms, two well-loved amenities received updates as well. First, the Doubloon Lagoon pool area received a lengthy makeover. Secondly, the Mardi Grogs pool bar recevied a fun refresh.

While at Mardi Grogs, feel transported to New Orleans thanks to a brighter and upscale look with cool blue tones and detailed metalwork. Don’t forget about the real reason everyone loves to visit Disney’s Port Orleans: French Quarter, the Mickey-shaped beignets and the Scat Cat Lounge.
