New Work Planned for Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy

New Work Planned for Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy

We get nervous when permits are filed for our favorite attractions. Find out the newest plan for the Guardians of the Galaxy space.

Changes Needed

Free FastPasses for guests were one of the hardest missing elements when the parks reopened in 2020. Disney promised a new solution, but this came at a cost. The initial Disney Genie+ service debuted at $15, and initially, fans were outraged.

The price continued to increase until a new Lightning Lane service was announced for summer 2025. Guests do enjoy the ability to book selections early, but the added cost for an entire family is staggering. See our honest review of Lightning Lane Multipass HERE.

The demise of the favorite FastPass system leaves much of the technology useless, which leads to new work scheduled at the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.

Guardians of the Galaxy offers favorite attractions at both Walt Disney World, with EPCOT’s Cosmic Rewind and Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney’s California Adventure.

Both attractions garner long lines. Interestingly enough, the FastPass distribution center still sits in front of Mission: BREAKOUT! Since FastPasses have not been used in five years, this seemed like a waste.

One thing that Walt Disney World has that is lacking at Disneyland is space. Now Disneyland has filed a new permit to better use this area.

This new permit will convert this space into an outdoor eating area. It appears that this may offer a fun theming since a metal awning, shipping container, and electrical work will be part of this design.

A start date has not yet been announced for this project, but additional shaded seating is much needed for guests at Avengers Campus.
