The Walt Disney Company has been under fire recently that a Disney vacation is not affordable for many. Unfortunately, Bob Iger’s response was less than optimistic.
Disney Parks Too Expensive for Average Family

Over the past two months, the Walt Disney company has been under attack by many feeling that the Disney parks are too expensive for the average family. Walt Disney first envisioned Disneyland as a place where parents and children could enjoy attractions in a magical land together.
These conversations first began when a Wall Street Journal post, “Some inside Disney worry that the company has become addicted to price hikes and has reached the limits of what middle-class Americans can afford.”
The following day the Walt Disney Company responded stating that they felt the lifelong memories that guests create as well worth the current price. This led many to believe that the Walt Disney Company was truly out of touch with its target audience.
Bob Iger Responds to Disney Parks Pricing

Today, during a Disney Shareholder meeting, Disney CEO Bob Iger was asked about Disney’s ability to keep up with rising attendance and about the current concerns about high pricing in the parks. Iger admitted that this is a great question and one that he thinks about all of the time.
In regards to the concern of the high price of the Disney parks, Iger shares, “The value is tremendous, particularly when you compare it to forms of entertainment, like sporting events and concerts.”
Regarding attendance concerns, Bob Iger admitted that he was in the parks earlier this month and saw great crowds at Walt Disney World and Disney Springs. This of course is on the eve of Universal Studios opening Epic Universe in just a few months.
Is a Disney Vacation Too Expensive

Again, that makes those of us who consider the price of a Disney vacation a little out of range a bit concerned. Eiger did mention that Disney is “constantly considering and quite ways to make the parks more “enjoyable and accessible.”
In regards to the concern of the high price of the Disney parks, Iger shares, “The value is tremendous.”
Iger admits that “our parks remain the most popular offering in the industry.” In my (Donna) opinion, it seems as though Disney still considers the price of their parks exceptional to the value that they offer. Unfortunately, they are not listening to the average family who would love to have a Disney vacation, but the pricing just continues to increase.
What do you think of Disney’s response? Do you really think that it is a great value for all that the Parks offer? Share your thoughts with us, and share this news with your Disney pals.

It would seem to Bob that the high price of a Disney vacation is worth the cost of his exorbitant salary.
Chapek was indeed a problem. But the problem is indeed much deeper. It is a corporate culture of disconnect.
Look at the number of movie flops they have produced.
Look at how they are destroying the parks with new IP nobody cares about. Not every new movie needs its own "Land."

I agree with JW. Chapek became valuable for Iger to blame because Iger was behind or approved all the unpopular changes at WDW and DL. Disney raised prices to help cover for their very expensive and poorly received creative offerings over the past 5 years. Adding Woke politics into everything didn't sell. When Disney had blockbuster movies in the past, such as Beauty and the Beast, and Lion King, families at the urging of their kids flocked to WDW and DL to see Belle, the Beast and Simba and to buy the Disney branded merchandise. Box office flops do not have the same multiplier effect. The parks have carried the rest of Disney. New creative releases that alienate half of Disney's loyal Guests are very, very costly.
