When visiting Florida, expect rain showers, and be aware that outdoor attractions may close due to severe weather. The closures’ timing depends on the storm’s duration and the upcoming weather forecast.

Be prepared for severe weather conditions throughout the year.

Orlando experiences severe weather conditions, including an extended hurricane season from June 1 to November 30, extreme heat, tornado warnings, and occasionally cold temperatures.

Today, June 9, an extreme ‘heat risk’ has been issued for the Orlando area. It is crucial to stay hydrated and seek shade when outdoors.

The Florida weather forecast predicts high temperatures of 98 degrees and feels like 104 degrees!

Please be aware that this is not the usual Orlando heat. As shown in the map below, it is more severe than typical summer temperatures

With extreme temperatures predicted, stay out of the sun as much as possible. If you have the option, wait until another day to visit Disney World. Put off yard work and other outside activities today in the Orlando area if possible.

If you’re visiting Disney World today or anytime soon, you can get free cups of water at quick service locations. Just ask a Cast Member inside the restaurant. If you get water at an indoor quick service location, you can take a break in air conditioning while you enjoy your water.

It’s a good idea to take afternoon breaks, especially when the temperatures are the highest.
