Fantasmic! Nighttime Show
Fantasmic! is a nighttime show at Disney World and Disneyland where Mickey enters a dream and dances with music, lights, and fireworks, featuring characters from Disney movies.
Disneyland’s Fantasmic! has been closed since April 2023. But no worries! It returns soon.
Last April, a fire broke out during the Disneyland show, and the Maleficent dragon caught fire. Fantasmic! has been closed since then leaving fans waiting for the return of this nighttime show.
Show Returning with New Elements
When Fantasmic! returns, it will feature new special effects. In addition, there is a newly reimagined battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent. The pictures look amazing!
Disney’s longest-running nighttime spectacular is set to return to Disneyland on May 24th!
Unfortunately, Maleficent in dragon form will not be returning. However, the cool Peter Pan battle is returning!
What Does This Mean to You?
We’ve been waiting over a year for this wonderful show to return. When it returns, expect large crowds. Be sure and plan your day accordingly to fit Fantasmic! into your schedule.
To get a reserved seating area, look into Fantasmic! dining packages when it returns.
If you don’t have reserved seating, arrive early to get a good seat and avoid missing out on the nighttime spectacular. When you see the show, we would love to hear if the show has been improved or not.

Actually we have further evidence the Dragon will eventually return. While we did see get a photo of the new climax which has Maleficent in her regular form fight Mickey, Tobi Longo, who directs the show said this.
“We’re excited for something to come back, and we’re in the works and working on it. But I think what I’ve done with that scene — that good versus evil and that battle between Maleficent and Mickey — is so spectacular. We all loved the dragon, and we’ll keep working on things, but there’s not much I can say about it.”
This might be a sign something is being worked on. And it probably has something to do with the Dragon. I think this should be edited into the article.
