Disney is really going all in with the Princess and the Frog retheme! Some new aditions will be added, but the entire land will need to close in order to do so. See the details here.
Princess and the Frog Rethemes
Both Disney World and Disneyland are replacing Splash Mountain with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Disney World’s version is expected to open this summer, and Disneyland’s version will open later this year.
Many fans of the Splash Mountain attraction are saddened by this news, but others are optimistic that this retheme will be fantastic.
Disney has been adding other Princess and the Frog features around Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park in preparation for this Tiana Takeover.
New Features
At Disney World, Tiana will wear her new attraction outfit at 1900 Park Fare. In addition, right now we can get beignets in Frontierland as well!
Rumors have circulated for the last couple of years that Pecos Bill would also receive a Princess and the Frog refurbishment to match Disneyland Park’s new restaurant.
That’s not the only thing coming to Disneyland Park. Two new shops will open to make room for more Tiana!
New Shops
Disney just announced that two new shops will open in Critter Country! Ray’s Berets will feature headwear, apparel, toys, accesorries and more. Louis’ Critter Club will be the place to go for apparel, accessories, home decor and more
“The reimagined merchandise locations coming to Critter Country in Disneyland park will include Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club. Their stories will further immerse you into Princess Tiana’s story, along with the opening of the attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, later this year.”
Disney
Ray’s Berets will take over what is currently The Briar Patch, and Loui’s Critter Club will take over the merchandise section of Pooh’s Corner. Souvenirs will move over with the treats.
Entire Land Closing
To add these two shops, Critter Country will temporarily close beginning May 1, 2024. There is no reopening date at this time.
There is not much left to the land anyway, but for those hoping to ride The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh or grab a Hundred Acre Wood themed treat, this can be disappointing.
What do you think of more Tiana in the parks? Did you see this coming with the closure of Splash Mountain? Let us know in the comments below, and share this post with a friend.

I will withhold judgement until I can see and experience these new attractions and shops. Having seen the movie, read the books by Joel Chandler Harris, and being familiar with the backstory, I was not offended at all by Song of the South, and don't agree with Bob Iger's haste to remove it. It was period-accurate for the post Civil War South. The only thing offensive was how Disney allowed Splash Mountain to go without sufficient maintenance for years. The animatronics must be maintained. Splash Mountain was the Magic Kingdom's most popular attraction for years.
