The Best Snack in Disney World That you Need to Have

There are many snacks in Disney World. You will find that there is always something new to try! However, there is a snack that’s been around for quite some time that you might not have known about. This snack could be the best snack in Disney World, and you have to try it on your next visit.

When you think Disney World snacks, you most likely think of those iconic Mickey-shaped snacks. Those are delicious and no trip is complete without a Mickey ice cream sandwich, Mickey bar, or a Mickey pretzel. Disney World has so many other delicious treats you may never get to try them all.

We had our fans rank the best snacks in Magic Kingdom, you can see how they stacked up HERE. Magic Kingdom has many iconic and fan favorite snacks, but one delicious, unique, and customizable snack somehow did not make the list. In my opinion, this snack should have been at the top!

Main Street Confectionery

Main Street Confectionery is an old-fashioned candy store that you will find on Main Street U.S.A. inside the Magic Kingdom. Its prime location makes it an easy stop for Guests to purchase on-the-go snack items to enjoy throughout the park or something as they leave.

Right as you enter Magic Kingdom park and make your way under the train station, you will see Main Street Confectionery at the beginning of Main Street. Inside the shop, you will find delicious treats including Mickey bars, Mickey cereal treats, and even character-inspired candy apples!

Kernel Kitchen

Kernel Kitchen is located inside Main Street Confectionery. If you are facing the castle at the beginning of Main Street, U.S.A. it is located to the right of Main Street Confectionery.

Here is where the snack magic happens! The delicious snack is made to order and can be customized however you want! This is a popcorn treat that is sure to be a truly magical delight.

Popcorn Flavors, Chocolate, and Mix-ins

To create your own unique customized popcorn treat is a three-step process. First, pick your popcorn. The next step is to select your syrup of choice. Finally, pick your candies!

There are so many unique combinations that there is a combination for almost everyone. Mix and create different flavors to your heart’s content!

There are four popcorn flavors to pick from. They are butter flavor, caramel, cheddar, and rainbow. The syrup flavors are milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate.

The candy combinations is where the real fun begins. Check out all the options you can pick from:

• M&M’s Peanut
• M&M’s Almond
• M&M’s Fudge Brownie
• M&M’s Peanut Butter
• Snickers Bar
• Twix Bar
• Skittles Original

• Pretzel Pieces

Main Street Favorites

There are some favorite combinations that you can choose from! Those include the seasonal offering, Willie’s Sweetest Spoon Recipe, and the Mayor’s Marvelous Medley.

The Willie’s Sweetest Spoon Recipe includes caramel popcorn, SNICKER bar, M&Ms Peanut, Pretzel pieces, crushed chocolate cookies, and milk chocolate syrup. The Mayor’s Marvelous Medley has caramel popcorn, M&M’s Almond, Pretzel pieces, and dark chocolate syrup.

They even offer limited-time mixes! Currently being offered is the Sweetheart Popcorn Mix. This is a limited offering of red and pink strawberry-flavored popcorn layered with M&M’s Milk Chocolate Candies, crushed chocolate cookies, mini marshmallows, and dark and white chocolate drizzle…yum!

One of my favorites is the Doom Buggy Popcorn mix. Guests can sometimes find this one around the Halfway to Halloween celebrations or during Halloween. This combination is caramel popcorn that is layered with Twix, crushed chocolate cookies, white, green, and black M&M’s milk chocolate candies, and milk chocolate syrup. This combination can be ordered at any time, but the M&M’s may not be the festive and Haunted Mansion vibe colors we love.

Another seasonal offering is the Dapper Dan Sweet Melody. This combination has rainbow popcorn, Skittles Original, Skittles Sour, Mini Marshmallows, and white chocolate syrup. Many of the seasonal combinations can be made at any time if you remember all the mix-ins, but you may not have the exact combination or colors offered.

Pricing

The customizable popcorn at Kernel Kitchen is a pricier snack, but it is a big and shareable snack (if you choose to!). Pricing is as follows:

• 2 toppings plus syrup $12.99
• 3 Toppings plus syrup $13.99
• Each additional toppings $1.00

How to Order

To create your own customizable popcorn order, you must order in person. You can place your order at the Kernel Kitchen counter. Here you can watch your order get made too!

If you are purchasing one of the Main Street favorite combinations, you can order on the My Disney Experience app through mobile order. Be aware that some of the Main Street favorite combinations can change from time to time. Unfortunately, you can’t make customized orders through mobile ordering.

More Than One Place to Buy

Last fall, the Main Street Confectionery offered another location to purchase your popcorn! You used to have to wait in a separate line to order your popcorn, even if you were buying other treats at Main Street Confectionery. Not anymore!

Now, you can order your popcorn with your other delicious treats at the counter. This is down on the main level, where the treat display case is located. Here you can order all your Main Street Confectionery treats including your Kernel Kitchen popcorn!

Final Thoughts

This popcorn may not be super well known because it isn’t one that many people can eat in one sitting either. It is made for sharing.

I also prefer to pick this snack up before I leave the park, as it is much easier to eat lounging at the hotel versus walking around the park. It may not be Mickey-shaped, but this sweet and savory treat is a must for me each time.
