Disney announced a huge partnership with EPIC Games that allows gamers to bring Disney characters and storylines with one of the most popular video games of all time!
Collaboration
The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games will collaborate on an all-new games and entertainment universe that will expand Disney stories and experiences. Disney will also invest $1.5 billion to acquire an equity stake in Epic Games with this multiyear project. Note that the transaction is subject to approval.
The new universe offers a world-class gaming experience with various franchises such as Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar. Players and fans can create their own stories and experiences and share content with others in a distinctly Disney way.

Reaction to Partnership
“This marks Disney’s biggest entry ever into the world of games and offers significant opportunities for growth and expansion. We can’t wait for fans to experience the Disney stories and worlds they love in groundbreaking new ways,” said Bob Iger.
This partnership brings together Disney and its franchises with Fortnite with new games and entertainment.
“This will enable us to bring together our incredible collection of stories and experiences from across the company for a broad audience in ways we have only dreamed of before,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences.
Why Partner with EPIC Games?
Disney and Epic Games collaborated through Fortnite to engage millions of players. One of these events was the Marvel Nexus War which had an incredible 15.3 million players playing at the same time.
They have used it to create popular video games like Kingdom Hearts 3 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and design over 15 Disney Parks attractions, such as Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
