France is one of the most popular Food & Wine Festival booths. Located in front of EPCOT’s France Pavilion, you’re almost certain to wait here. For the chance at the shortest line, go during the week.

Last year, Kate reviewed the Beignet aux Trois Fromages is a warm beignet filled with a 3-cheese blend HERE. She stated that while the cheese was warm and melted, it didn’t have much flavor.

This year, however, I had better luck here with the new dishes! First, I (Susan), tried the Boeuf Bourguignon, Pomme Dauphine: Braised Short Ribs in Cabernet with Puffed Potatoes. The beef was so tender it melted in your mouth, and the sauce was perfection!

It had a depth of beefy flavor that tasted like it the flavors welded together for hours. The puffed potatoes were fresh since they were added to the dish when ordered.

A cast member shared that this is the way they serve it in France. And sometimes, they pour a little red wine over it to enhance the flavors even more! This dish is one of the better values at the International Food & Wine Festival.

Another new dish this year is the Croissant aux Escargots: Escargot Croissant with Garlic and Parsley. I’ve never tried escargot before and wanted to give it a try.

The croissant was flaky and seemed fresh, but the escargot flavor was very minimal. I really couldn’t even detect any specific flavors from it. And a friend from France told me that while the French love croissants, they rarely eat snails.

He shared that when they do, it may be during a holiday, but it is a delicacy to be eaten right out of the shell. In France they do not serve croissants with escargot!

I’m a huge fan of Crème Brûlée and this dish did not disappoint! France’s Crème Brûlée Vanille à la Confiture de Fraises: Vanilla Crème Brûlée with House-Made Strawberry Jam is also new this year. This dish was so creamy and the sugar top was cooked just right with a small torch right before ordering.

Also, it was very evident that the strawberry jam was super fresh! It added a wonderful surprise element to the Crème Brûlée.

Last, but certainly not least is the Strawberry Rose Mimosa. It contains Pol Remy Sparking Wine, orange juice, and Monin Strawberry Rose Syrup. While it’s not a very strong drink, it is very refreshing on a hot day.

I heartily agree with the Beef Bourguignon comment. It was outstanding! I also had the slushy which was also refreshing a little sweet and outstanding, but a little pricy

France is our # 1 favorite pavilion during Food and Wine, or anytime, really.
