Recent Changes

During the First Quarter Earnings Call, Disney+ subscriptions took a loss. For the Second Quarter Earnings, Disney+ lost 4 million subscribers, primarily overseas.

In May, Disney+ announced it was removing a huge chunk of content from the platform. At the time, Iger announced higher prices for the ad-free tier and improvements coming in streaming. Take a look at what was removed HERE.

On the 3rd quarter earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger stated that three businesses will drive the greatest growth over the next five years: film studios, parks business and streaming. However, Disney+ hasn’t seen an improvement.

New Way to Give Feedback

Disney sent an email asking guests to join the “Stream Team.” They’re seeking feedback on various entertainment streaming services including Disney+. The first questions are basic demographic items to determine eligibility. The survey asks which, if any of the following streaming services do you have:

  • Discovery+
  • Paramount+
  • Starz
  • Showtime
  • Peacock
  • Disney+
  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Max
  • ESPN+
  • Netflix
  • Hulu
  • Apple TV+

After this, Disney asks how interested you are in watching the following content: Star Wars, National Geographic, The Simpsons, Disney, Marvel, and Pixar.

Then it goes into asking which type of shows and movies you like by genre. It even asks if you watch Soap Operas such as The Young and the Restless.

Interesting Questions

Upon completing these sections, the survey goes into more demographic questions such as marital status, number in your household, and income. Disney asks if “anyone in your household identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community?”

And the final question asks which option best describes your political views including the following choices shown above.

Do you think this will be an effective way to make changes or is there a better way? Please let us know in the comments and share this post with a friend.

Data is money, we should receive a subscription discount to participate in these surveys since we are giving them our time for the answers while having a paid service.

Every large company wants to know what people want to see more of and what will make the most money. What is very telling is the people who are so determined to be angry and imagine the worst instead of being happy that Disney is responding to complaints and willing to make changes (if enough people want them to).
