We have some very sad breaking news from the Contemporary Resort this morning. The Contemporary Resort is located just steps from the Magic Kingdom and is one of the three deluxe resorts that surround Bay Lake.

A Guest fell from a balcony this morning and died. A call came out at 5:44 am this morning, July 26. According to the details from the Orange County Sheriffs call list, the death occurred on North World Drive. This is the location of Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower.

The incident appears to have occurred at Bay Lake Tower according to Guest reports which are beginning to circulate. One Guest received a call around 7:30 am that there was a medical emergency at the resort and not to go out onto the balcony.

What happened?

This morning there was also a tent set up right under a balcony which was all taped up. Crime Scene Investigators and law enforcement were also on the scene. According to the details on the activity log, the scene was closed at 10:08 am.

Guests were reportedly redirected because they were not allowed to take the sky bridge from Bay Lake Tower to the main building of the Contemporary. Instead, they used the parking lot to get to the main building.

While we do not know exactly what occurred, many speculate this was a suicide. No matter the circumstances of the incident, our hearts go out to the family of this Guest.

You may remember back in 2020 a woman jumped off a building at the Contemporary. On December 30, 2019 a similar incident happened when a guest jumped from a ferry boat into the Seven Seas Lagoon.

At this time, we have no further details. Disney and the Orange County Sheriffs Office have not released a statement. We will be sure to share any updates if/when they become available.

This comment does nothing but provide solid evidence that you have zero understanding of mental illness. People do not choose to be mentally ill, nor do they choose the events leading up to making the decision to end their own life. You have literally no idea what happened and are passing judgment for the world so see.

Saying anything hurtful online is just adding pain to the surviving friends and family. The world needs more kindness and compassion. Prayers for everyone involved.

Thank you for these words. No one should judge others. Life is too complicated for simple judgements.

I am so sorry for your loss. A lot of people don't realize that men can be abused too. Prayers for you and your family
