Happy Stitch Day
As many Disney fans are aware, today is the unofficial day to celebrate Stitch. The original scientific name given to Stitch was Experiment 626, which correlates and is celebrated annually by fans on June 26 (6/26).
Guests can enjoy special Stitch-inspired treats in the Magic Kingdom and, of course, meet Stitch over in Tomorrowland. It also appears that Stitch has taken over the Disney Twitter feed, so shenanigans will most definitely ensue.
Stitch has now shared the best announcement with us that, quite frankly, we weren’t expecting today.
Ohana Challenge
There are so many great ways to celebrate at Walt Disney World and runDisney creates great events for guests all throughout the year. Springtime Surprise is the newest addition to the runDisney race weekends and is a different theme every year. For example, this past spring had a fun Pixar theme.
We now have great news for the 2024 Springtime Surprise Challenge. Say “aloha” to Stitch’s ‘Ohana Challenge, just one of the exciting events coming to the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend.
Inspired by Disney Animation’s Lilo & Stitch, challenge participants will blast off to the finish line of all three races during the weekend – the 5K, 10K, and 10-Miler – and be rewarded with a special medal that celebrates the magic of being together.
Disney shares that they will give a full reveal of all the friends from different daring Disney tales that will be joining us for the race weekend soon. Mark your calendars the Springtime Surprise will take place April 18-21, 2024, with registration starting on August 25, 2023. This will definitely be a fun event!
