Springtime Surprise is the newest addition to the runDisney race weekends. This year’s event takes place from April 13-16, 2023. The final event in the 2022-2023 runDisney race season celebrates the power of friendship and the magic of Pixar with the Pixar Pals.

The race themes are amazing this year! Our favorite Pixar Pals have arrived. Check out all the race themes HERE. You can also see the medals in this post.

runDisney Rare Characters

One thing for sure that comes along with a runDisney event, is some AMAZING RARE characters. I (Heather) love getting to see those rare characters!

The best part is you get to see different characters throughout the weekend. I won’t lie, I wish I was there meeting all of these Pixar Pals!

Check out the characters that were at the Expo HERE. Even more characters greeted us at the 5K, check those rare characters out HERE. Check out today’s characters at the 10K HERE. I can’t wait to see the rest of the characters runDisney has in store for us tomorrow!

New Wording

It has been noted this weekend that runDisney has changed some of their wording. They moved to saying “athletes” versus “runners.”

This makes it more inclusive for all participants. There are so many different participants in these events. You have runners, walkers and push rim athletes.

By stating “athletes” and not “runners” they can include everyone. All of the participants at these runDisney events are ATHLETES! You need more than a little pixie dust to finish some of these races!

runDisney is now using the wording “athletes” versus “runners.”

What do you think of the new wording runDisney is using? Are you happy to see the change and it be more inclusive for all runDisney participants? Let us know in the comments below and share this post with your fellow runDisney athletes!

INCLUSIVE???? If Disney REALLY wanted to be "inclusive" they'd make their prices reasonable so more families could visit.

really? That makes them feel inclusive? How about making things affordable so ALL of the children you market to every day can visit once in a while..

Was anyone really offended by the wording in the past?? When will this politization of Disney end?
