EPCOT Transformation
Disney is currently working on a major transformation of Epcot. Prior to the historic park closure in 2020, many details about new projects and refurbishments coming to EPCOT were announced. From the addition of the new attractions Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, many announcements have since seen construction and some have even opened for guests!
It seems like with each day or week, we receive more clues to when attractions or projects will be beginning or opening. Just recently, we found out a better timeline of when Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will be opening. You can read all about that HERE.
Parking Lot Updates
Walt Disney Imagineering shared an update for the parking lots at EPCOT. They shared the following: “Beginning this week, guests will be welcomed to EPCOT in a brand new way. As part of the continued transformation of EPCOT, we have made updates to the guest parking lot to introduce new lot names with familiar faces and refreshed paint.”
There will also now be new “Space” and “Earth” sides of the lot.
New Marquee
Guests will also see a redesigned auto plaza marquee installed in the coming weeks. This will be one of the first things guests see when welcomed into the park.

With these changes, guests will no longer see the former lot names Discover, Create, Explore, Wonder, Journey, Amaze and Imagine. Also noticeably missing was no update regarding the return of the parking lot trams.

Come on Disney!!! What in the world are they thinking??? Do they think guests care about the names of the parking lot sections? A, B, C for all we care. Let's get back conveniniences - like - PARKING LOT TRAMS! That's what guests care about. Wake up Disney Corp!

Please bring back the trams. As Seniors we can walk from the parking lot to the entrance of Epcot but can't actually enter the park!

Painting and renaming doesn't change the fact thats it's still a huge parking area and a long walk to the front gate. Help us understand why the trams haven returned.

I would LOVE to have package delivery back to the resorts return! I LOVE to shop, but now barely buy anything because I don't want to carry it around all day. It actually makes me want to go less. It's hard when you have the best and they take it away. And trams would be a godsend if we used the parking lots, I can't believe that hasn't returned either
