Marathon Weekend
Marathon Weekend is the biggest runDisney weekend. It is a weekend of four races that will put participants to the test!
Races range from a 5K all the way to a full marathon! Are you Goofy enough to run the half marathon and the full marathon in a single weekend? Are you Dopey enough to run all FOUR races and complete the Dopey Challenge?

Virtual Queue
Disney has been using Virtual Queues for Guests to be able to experience their newer rides. These rides include Rise of the Resistance, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The only ride that is still using this is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Disney is also currently using a virtual queue to meet Santa in Disney Springs.
runDisney began using a Virtual Queue at the runDisney Merchandise Shop at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during the Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend. Full review to come for this Virtual Queue experience!

On January 4, 2023, a virtual queue will open for the runDisney Merchandise Shop at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
We’re so excited to welcome runners to the 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend—especially since we’re celebrating 30 Years Running! We’ve also introduced an exciting enhancement to the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo this race season.
Attendees looking to purchase event weekend merchandise on the first day of the Expo will be asked to join a virtual queue. This feature allows you to spend more time enjoying your Expo experience and visiting with Expo vendors—all while you wait in line for merchandise, virtually.
The Virtual Queue will be used for the runDisney Merchandise Shop.
This Virtual Queue is similar to the Virtual Queue used for Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend except it does not open until 8:30 AM Eastern Time on January 4th. The queue opened at 7:30 AM for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend. Maybe they pushed the time back because people still showed up too early or it’s too close to the other virtual queues opening.
Either way Disney feels this worked better than people lining up for hours waiting to get their hands on runDisney merchandise. It looks like this Virtual Queue for runDisney merch is here to stay.
