The BoardWalk Resort is one of the most unique resorts in all of Disney World! Not only is it a full hotel, but the actual boardwalk mimics actual Atlantic City boardwalk with its fun entertainment and dining choices.

Described as a resort that evokes turn-of-the-century boardwalks in coastal cities such as Coney Island and Atlantic City, the BoardWalk Resort has a theme that sets it apart from the rest. Check out our full guide to this charming resort HERE.

New Restaurant Coming

In March, Disney announced new dining options and a makeover at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. The ESPN Club is currently being demolished right now to make room for The Cake Bake Shop. Waterside strolls will be extra special with amazing desserts and sweets at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. This new table service restaurant and bakery is expected to open in 2023.

Through the doors of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, light and airy touches will added to the lobby and lounge and guest rooms, carrying the seaside breeze right inside. Just off the lobby, a new coffee bar with artisanal beverages and quick bites will be available to-go or in newly refreshed seating spaces inside or outdoors.

Previously, we were unsure of the size of The Cake Bake Shop. However, with the newly released exterior concept art, you can see how big this new dining spot will be! It will be nice to finally have something to take over the previously closed area.

What do you think about this new dining location? Are you excited about the addition of a table service location here? Please share your thoughts with us on Facebook.

Horrible idea. Wish they kept the ESPN club, it was a great place to grab a beer and have decent bar food. We don’t need another expensive restaurant at the Boardwalk area. Boardwalk already has Flying Fish and Trattoria Al Forno. Not to mention Yachtsman Steakhouse, Ill Mulino, and Shula’s nearby as well. It was nice having a place to grab wings, nachos, burgers, fries etc…will truly be missed.
