Planning for Characters

Before attending the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, I (Susan) was a little apprehensive about characters since there were SO many missing from Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

I attended the first party on November 8 to check out all of the characters. Most characters will sign autographs, but Jack and Sally and the Pooh gang give out pre-signed cards instead.

You cannot line up to meet any characters until after you receive your party wristband so get that at 4:00pm!

There are Disney PhotoPass photographers at most character meets, but they are NOT included with your party ticket. You must purchase Memory Maker for trip or for the day if you don’t have them included with an Annual Pass. If you only want a few pictures, you can also purchase pictures individually from the Memory Maker website.

Pirate Tip: A great time to meet characters is during the second parade.

Mad Tea Party

It’s only fitting that Alice in Wonderland characters meet near the Mad Tea Party attraction. During the Christmas party, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are festive in their holiday scarves. If it’s raining, look for them near Cheshire Café.

Pooh and Friends

This is a very popular character meet so expect long lines here. You can only meet the whole Pooh gang together (Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet) at ticketed events.

Princesses and Princes

There are several party locations to meet Disney princesses with their prince. And, these character combinations are exclusive to the Christmas party. However, you can see them together during the Festival of Fantasy parade during normal operations.

The first location is at the Fantasyland wall between Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Pinocchio Haus Village restaurant with Snow and her prince along with Aurora and Prince Phillip.

Looking toward Be Our Guest restaurant, this line forms to the right of the wall. You’ll meet both pairs in one line which cuts down on wait time.

However, on the first party, it rained most of the night. Due to this, none of these characters along the Fantasyland wall were available on November 8.

Next, Belle greets guests in her stunning red Christmas dress at Maurice’s Cottage. If it rains, she will be in her blue dress instead of her holiday party gown.

Trek toward the Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid attraction to meet Ariel and Prince Eric. You’ll see them across from this attraction at Prince Eric’s Market.

Finally, don’t skip the Princess Fairytale Hall location! We had the most personal interaction with characters here. Note that there are two queues here. On the right side you’ll meet Cinderella and Prince Charming as well as Elena.

And the left side has Rapunzel with Flynn and Tiana with Prince Naveen.

All of the princesses and princes are located in Fantasyland.

Dumbo Area of Fantasyland

Dance the night away at the Storybook Circus Calliope Tent with your favorite Disney Junior characters (Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, and Doc McStuffins) and Timon. This party goes on throughout the evening.

Then, head toward the Barnstormer Courtyard to catch Santa Goofy. He’s such a fun meet! When raining, he’s at the Disney Junior Jingle Jam dance party nearby.

Last, but not least, you’ll spot characters in the Dumbo indoor playground queue. Four characters decked out in their holiday outfits here: Donald with his Uncle Scrooge and Daisy with Minnie.

Town Square Theater

Mickey Mouse meets in the same place as during the day, the Town Square Theater. During the party, however, he is sporting his finest Christmas outfit so be sure to stop by and say hello.

The two most popular characters also meet here, Jack Skellington and Sally. They have such creative interactions with guests! This meet and greet begins before the party so line up early!

Frontierland

While there’s not a traditional meet-and-greet in Frontierland, you will find roaming characters here. Be on the lookout for all of the Country Bears here (Wendell, Shaker, Liver Lips McGrowl, and Big Al). They will all be wearing their favorite Christmas scarves.

Santa Claus

Jolly Old Saint Nick is also meeting guests during the Christmas Party at the Gazebo behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. However, he doesn’t meet during the parade or during inclement weather.

You can also find Santa at EPCOT and Disney Springs. Read Monica’s post HERE to see all the places to meet Santa.

Adventureland

There are three locations to meet characters at Adventureland. First, look for Jack Sparrow across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. You can also meet Jack Sparrow during the day here.

Next, you’ll find the Aladdin crew in their usual location near the Flying Carpets attraction. There are four characters meeting here, however, they rotate in pairs of two. One set features Aladdin as Prince Ali with Abu, while the other has Genie with Jasmine.

You can meet a total of six characters in Adventureland.

Check out the third meet below…

Surprise Character

The first thing I did during the party (after getting in line for Jack and Sally early) is study the party map. These locations all matched what we shared last week HERE.

At that time, I didn’t know if the dwarfs would be returning or not. However, after studying the map and knowing previous party character locations, I was fairly certain they wouldn’t be there.

While I was right about the dwarfs, I decided to ask a cast member if Moana was at the party. She wasn’t listed on the party map, so I was doubtful. The last time she officially met guests (which was the first time I met her) was at the 2019 Halloween Party.

To my surprise, the cast member shared that she would be meeting in her previous spot, in Adventureland at the Tiki Room. Our entire party was thrilled and as soon as we were allowed (5:30pm), we lined up to meet her!!

Moana returns to the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

Characters Not Guaranteed

Credit: Susan

Hope you enjoyed this complete list of characters. But remember there is no guarantee that all of them will be available on a given evening. For example, the rain stopped the outdoor meets completely during our party.

Not only that, but Daisy was absent from her meet with Minnie. We were told she was there earlier, but she would not be returning. With this in mind, keep your expectations reasonable and be ready to adjust them as needed.
