More Florida Theme Park Close Due to Tropical Storm

The holidays may be in full swing at various theme parks, but Tropical Storm Nicole has other plans. Several more theme parks located within the Orlando and Tampa Bay area are closing.

We are very thankful that Tropical Storm Nicole is not a hurricane in the Orlando area, but that does not take away how powerful she is. Several theme parks are closing, including Disney World. Due to the tropical storm, Universal’s Volcano Bay continues to remain closed through Thursday, November 10th. It is expected to reopen to Guests on Friday, November 11th, weather permitting.

The rest of Universal Orlando Resort which also includes Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and City Walk will close early on Wednesday, November 9th at 5 pm. On-site hotels will remain operational.

Universal Orlando is expected a phased and delayed reopening on Thursday, November 10th. Guests trying to get in contact with the Universal Orlando Resort Guest Contact Center will find themselves experiencing higher than expected wait time. For travel dates after November 13th, it is recommended to call back at a later time.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and SeaWorld Orlando

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay just announced that they will be closing its theme park on Thursday, November 10th.

They published the following statement: “Precautions are in place following the park’s comprehensive weather preparedness plan to ensure the safety of our animals and ambassadors during this time.”

SeaWorld Orlando also announced that they will be closing at 3 p.m. today, November 9th, because of Tropical Storm Nicole. The park will remain closed on Thursday, with plans to reopen on Friday.

Legoland Peppa Pig

Legoland and Peppa Pig World have additionally reported adjustments park hours and operations for the safety of guests and employees due to Tropical Storm Nicole. On Thursday, November 10th, Peppa Pig Theme Park hours will be open 12-5pm.

Legoland Florida Theme Park will open from 12-6 pm and lastly, Legoland Waterpark will remain closed on Thursday. The Resort Hotels will remain open and continue normal operations.
