Disney merchandise is popular, and then some Disney merchandise is so popular that guests are willing to wait in extremely long lines just to purchase select items. Back in January of this year, Disney released the first images of the Figment popcorn bucket. This was released for the Festival of the Arts and once the first images appeared, guests knew they had to bring him home.
When first released, the line to purchase the Figment popcorn bucket was roughly 1/3 a mile. Walt Disney World signage showed that these Figment popcorn buckets will be limited to 2 per person. Unfortunately, it appears that some Guests found clever ways around this rule.
The Figment popcorn buckets sold out quickly but were soon restocked. Once they returned, Disney also implemented a new feature on the My Disney Experience app to allow guests to purchase through Mobile Ordering.
Unfortunately, Disney did not prepare similarly for the 40th Anniversary of EPCOT. When EPCOT celebrated its 40th Anniversary in October, long lines formed again.
The same line markers that are used at attractions to easily show where the queue line actually starts were in place for guests waiting in line to enter the Creations Shop at EPCOT. The queue to enter the Creations Shop currently begins at the Living Seas.
This time, Disney prepared for the big release of the Mr. Toad popcorn bucket in the best way.
Magic Kingdom Souvenir Release
Mr. Toad is now at Walt Disney World. Last week, we shared the first images and details for the Mr. Toad popcorn bucket. Be sure to check out the full details HERE. Today a special feature has returned that will eliminate the long lines to purchase the Mr. Toad popcorn bucket.
On the day that you will visit Magic Kingdom, simply press the (+) icon and select “Order Food.” An option for “Magic Kingdom Souvenir Release” will appear.
Choose an available mobile order arrival window for the “Magic Kingdom Souvenir Release.” When it is your arrival window time, tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order.” When you receive the push notification that your order is ready, go to the Mobile Order pickup window at Pete’s Silly Side Show in Storybook Circus near Big Top Souvenirs.
This eliminates long lines and guests may only submit one mobile order per day for this Magic Kingdom Souvnier Release. The mobile order limits 2 popcorn buckets per day.
