The Fantasmic show has delighted Guests since 1992 (with a closure in 2016). This show has remained closed since the reopening of the parks.

In November 2021, we shared that Fantasmic will be returning in 2022. Disney has shared that Fantasmic will reopen with a few changes. The new Fantasmic show will feature “new animation, water effects, and everything that we love about Fantasmic.” Be sure to check out the details for these new show scenes HERE.

Last month we shared the various delays in the reopening of Fantasmic! You can check out the “laundry list” of items that first must be completed before the return of this show HERE. Disney also failed to offer a reopening timeline during a press release for the reopening of Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond show.

Even with the long list of items that must be addressed prior to reopening this show, it appears that much work has been completed. Thanks to bioreconstruct for sharing these aerial images of the Fantasmic seating area.

Although this is not a clear sign of the reopening of Fantasmic!, it appears that many key elements are being set in place for the return of this nighttime spectacular.

There are a few noteworthy changes. First, the canoes have been removed as the Pocahontas scene has been removed. Disney shared that when the show reopens it will be reimagined and the canoes will no longer be a part of this new show.

Also if you zoom in, a lot, you can see trash cans located in each of the seating sections. They have drained, filled, and re-drained the water a million times it seems, but the water has been filled once again. It appears that lighting is in place for this show as well.

Although this is not a clear sign of the reopening of Fantasmic!, it appears that many key elements are being set in place for the return of this nighttime spectacular.
