If you have ever visited Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you may be familiar with Banshees. The Na’vi name for Mountain Banshees is “ikran.” The Na’vi people of Pandora fly upon the backs of the dragon-like creatures.

If you have had a chance to experience Pandora’s hit attraction Avatar Flight of Passage, you may have even experienced a ride on a Banshee for yourself! The attraction sends Guests on an unforgettable ride across the otherworldly landscape of Pandora.

In case you missed their debut earlier in the year, Disney has a new way for guests to take home a piece of Pandora after their visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Windtraders, the gift shop in Pandora, is selling Banshee eggs.

These eggs break open to hatch into adorable babies. They sit upon their owner’s wrist by way of a special wristband, waiting to interact.

They currently come in three colors: Blue, Green, and Orange. You can see which color you are selecting when you pick out your egg, so you get to pick the one you want.

These banshees are not only decorative, but they are also interactive. They make noise in response to their owner’s actions.

They come with a worm-like food that their owner can use to feed them. Additionally, they even interact with one another. My travel party had a chance to play with them a bit on our visit the other day.

The interactions are reminiscent of what you can expect from Droids built over at Droid Depot in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They are relatively limited, but fun nonetheless.

Price

You can bring home your own baby mountain banshee for $39.99 plus tax. This is significantly less than the cost of the shoulder-sitting puppets that are also readily available in Windtraders.

Of course, you may want two instead of just one so that they can play with one another. That’s where they get ya!

Discounts for AP holders, DVC members, and Disney Chase Card holders are available. The AP discount brought the babies to around $32.
