It’s not be a good morning for Hollywood Studios. In fact, it’s kind of a mess at the moment.
Hollywood Studios
In recent years, Disney has transformed Hollywood Studios from a half-day park to one of the hardest parks to to tour. It is so much more than just shows now. Hollywood Studios is home to many thrill rides and great family-friendly attractions.
Because of this, it can be much harder to tour Hollywood Studios now. There are at least 3 headliners all competing with each other plus several other attractions that are a must-do for most Guests.
Unfortunately, several of these attractions have not had a great morning. This is wreaking havoc on touring strategies and wait times across the park.
Rise of the Resistance
Hands down, Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular attractions in all of Disney World. Many people will wait hours or pay the money to be able to ride it. The technology and storyline are both incredible.
Unfortunately, these technology advances also cause some problems for the ride. Because there are so many moving pieces to the ride and it does not rely on tracks, it frequently breaks down.
This morning, April 26, Rise of the Resistance failed to open with the park. Early entry began at 7:30 am with official park opening at 8:00 am.
Fortunately, it is open and now has a 135 minute wait. Hopefully those who were hoping to ride earlier today now have the chance to head over to Galaxy’s Edge.
Tower of Terror
Tower of Terror is my (Monica) favorite attraction at Hollywood Studios. It has everything: a great pre-show, suspense, and lots of thrill. Right now, it is currently in the middle of a refurbishment. Fortunately, this refurbishment is taking place while the ride is still open. Disney is simply closing a few of the elevators at a time.
This also means the ride is operating at half capacity, and wait times are consistently long. It opened briefly with the park today before closing. It is now open and has a 185 minute wait! Yikes. Hopefully you can grabbed your Genie+ selection for it already.
Rock n Roller Coaster
Rock n Roller Coaster opened earlier this morning but now has temporarily closed. With these three attractions having a tough morning, I imagine a lot of Guests are confused and frustrated. Hopefully Disney can sort these issues out soon!

We were there in April and Genie + is a joke! It's a waste of time and money and completely useless! Universal Studios has the right idea with fast passes! The crowds and wait times for rides are ridiculous and if you want to sit down and eat..well forget that! My poor Grandson who is only 2 just wanted to sit and eat his lunch at a table but there were none to be found! He didn't understand and cried uncontrollably, it was awful!

Been here scince Saturday. Rides and attractions continually not running. The new system to book “rides” is ridiculous. Continually on your phone booking things. Have been coming to WDW for years,won’t be back.We are leaving 2 days early, loosing money. Guess they need it more than I do

Pretty much sums it up! We had a disappointing and expensive day. Paid extra for the lightening lane of ROR, but couldn’t get a lightening lane for anything else and the wait times were greater than 100 minutes for everything. Highly dissatisfied! A refund on genie plus would be helpful, a refund on my park ticket, even better!
