Disney Vacation Club
DVC is short for Disney Vacation Club. It is a timeshare run by Disney. Unlike other timeshares DVC has the flexibility of a point system.
You can book the time of year you travel and type of accommodation, including your resort of choice. With this style of timeshare you are not stuck in a particular week every year. You purchase an allotment of points that you can then choose to spend however you would like.
I (Heather) have been a DVC member for almost six years. I love the flexibility it gives my family. DVC isn’t for everyone. It does take pre-planning (usually 7-11 months in advanced). There are not usually much availability on short notice.

The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney Vacation Club is updating the Big Pine Key building. This building is currently non-DVC. It will be converted to about 200 studios!
Disney Vacation Club describes it: These modern, sophisticated accommodations will sleep up to 5 Guests and offer luxe touches like quartz countertops, ornate crown molding and patterned tile. Resort Studios* also feature a flat-screen TV, a beverage center with a beverage cooler and coffee maker, and marble tile floors in the bathroom.
I (Heather) am personally interested to get a peak at these new Resort Studios. I love having the toaster and microwave to make quick and easy meals for my kids. These new Resort Studios will only have a beverage center and coffee maker (more like a traditional hotel room).

When Can I Book?
Let’s plan a vacation! On March 14, 2022 existing Members with a home resort at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian & Spa or Members that have added on at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian & Spa may begin booking the new Resort Studios! You must call Member Services to book these rooms!
Current Members at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian & Spa (prior or with add-on) must call Member Services to book their stay!
Other Members can begin booking these new Resort Studio accommodations on May 13, 2022. When this booking becomes available to all members, they can book through DisneyVacationClub.com or by calling Member Services.

Truthfully, I've always felt like their mini fridges are no better than that anyway. Maybe they're just renaming them?

Only a "beverage cooler" and not a mini-fridge? That's a deal breaker for me. I need the mini-fridge, as I bring most of my own food due to religious dietary reasons. I was hoping to stay there at least once, but as I wrote, no mini-fridge is a deal breaker for me.
