Mardis Gras

Did you know Port Orleans – Riverside is celebrating 30 years of welcoming guests?! Today, February 2, is the 30th anniversary of the resort. Mardi Gras is coming up on March 1, and Disney just released how they are celebrating for this fun holiday.

The resorts, which evoke all of the beauty – and fun! – of Louisiana, offer a ton of unique recreation activities, entertainment, and food and beverage. I really enjoyed my recent stay here.

Live Shows Return!

Beginning February 4, live musicians will take the stage at Scat Cat’s Club at Port Orleans – French Quarter. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings enjoy a live show along with some tasty food items and beverages. There is a brand-new Bebop Bloody Mary specialty cocktail along with the Oyster Beignet Po Boy!

Beginning February 4, live musicians will take the stage at Scat Cat’s Club at Port Orleans – French Quarter.

There is no specific end date on these live shows. It may end when Mardi Gras is over, or it may become a permanent show again.

Other ways to celebrate

A trip to Port Orleans is not complete without beignets! French Quarter has the only Mickey-shaped beignets on property, and they are so tasty. You can find them at Scat Cat’s Club – Cafe.

Parades are a big part of Mardi Gras. In the past, Cast Members participated in a golf cart parade, but Disney has not shared whether or not that will return this year. You can make your own, though! Simply rent a Surrey Bike, decorate it, and take it for a spin around the Sassagoula River!

You may also remember we shared that the horse drawn carriages return on February 4. While you’re visiting the resorts, a carriage ride would be an excellent way to enjoy the beauty and of the resorts.
