Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, the clock turns back to the turn-of-the-century National Park northwest lodges. At this resort, Guests soak in the craftsman details and the wilderness of massive wood everywhere. Finding the Mercantile
Whether or not you’re staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, if time allows, you should check out the Mercantile. Once you arrive at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, find the check-in area. Walk past it and and be on the lookout for the adorable Mickey and friends totem pole. This marks the entrance of this remarkable store.
There is one large shop here, Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, located in the main building. I (Susan) love the whimsical totem pole with not only our favorite Disney characters but also Humphrey. On my next visit, I’m getting that cute totem pole!
Resort Merchandise
Follow the totem pole inside to find totem pole souvenirs along with other Wilderness Lodge specific merchandise. I snagged a magnet for an inexpensive memento.
Not only will shoppers find souvenirs, but there’s a Wilderness Lodge line with clothing, accessories, and drinkware.
Shown above is an upscale line of Wilderness Lodge products. Check out the Wilderness Lodge Tervis tumbler. These are fun souvenirs to collect at each Disney DVC Resort.
Wilderness Themed Soaps
One of my favorite gifts found at Disney is the cleverly named soaps found both here and the Canadian World Showcase gift shop. My favorite is the beaver butt soap! These make funny stocking stuffers.
Theming
As in other areas of the resort, guests find a large fireplace along with a display of the Resorts Top Shop awards. Check out the princess attire in the corner. Love how everything coordinates.
My last visit was over the Christmas holiday. The details in this shop make it amazing. Check out the small tree filled with children’s homemade paper ornaments.
Sweets
Some say Disney themed treats taste better. I am not sure about that, but the feelings of nostalgia eating them on vacation sure can give us the warm fuzzies!
In addition to Goofy’s Candy Company, you’ll find chocolates and Mickey shaped rice krispy treats. Sweets make a wonderful souvenir that is easy to bring home.
Groceries
There’s a corner filled with pantry grocery items to take back to the room. One of the best things about staying at the DVC Studio, 1-bedroom, or 2-bedroom Villa is the kitchenette or full kitchen included.
While most people aren’t going to prepare 3 meals a day in their room, it’s so nice to have the convenience to eat a quick breakfast or late night snack there. Don’t forget to stock up on water for those early mornings and late nights!
The refrigerated items that can help guests relax and save money by eating in their rooms. This is especially helpful for larger rooms with kitchens. As you can see, there’s a wide variety of groceries offered here.
Everything from milk to wine can be bought. There’s also items to make easy breakfasts. Although the selection may vary from time to time, be sure to check these out.
Drinks
In addition to refrigerated drinks, more economical items can be found on the shelves above. Whether you’re looking for a multi-drink pack or a 2-liter soda, stock up here and put in your room fridge.
Medicine and Miscellaneous Items
Are you like me and forget something from time to time? Although first aid centers inside the theme parks hand out free basic medicine, there’s times you need a larger size and variety. No worries! Disney’s got you covered whether you need diapers, sunscreen or cough medicine.
Clothing
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Mercantile is a large store. It’s filled with many clothing items for the entire family. When I visited, I was impressed by so many lines represented here.
Don’t fight the theme park crowds when you can shop in this uncrowded store.
The Minnie Mouse line shown above is adorable. Check out the Minnie fanny pack!
Accessories
On my last visit, I spotted these princess ponytails. How fun! Let your princess choose her favorite style before heading to the park. As you can see in the left part of the above photo, the popular Wishables are sold here, too.
The display shown above has so many great Disney items. Do you need a new lanyard or card holder? Look no further. Or, are you a Star Wars fan in need of a shoulder Porg? Disney sells trading pins here too.
Hats and Ears
When I visited the Mercantile last spring, I spotted a wall full of baseball style hats and Minnie ears. After all, we need the right head gear before catching the boat to Magic Kingdom.
In addition to baseball hats and Minnie headband ears, the Mercantile sells seasonal hats. Check out the fuzzy hats for those cool evenings. Here, you’ll find princess hats as well as Wilderness Lodge toboggans.
Souvenirs
When visiting Disney, it seems there’s always someone back home wanting a Disney souvenir. I love the Humphrey bear mugs in the picture above.
Disney sells all types of journals to remember your trip. These also make fabulous gifts. They’re so colorful and have many details that make them memorable.
Kitchen
Whipping up your favorite Disney dish is always more fun with Disney-themed products. Check out the character aprons, the potholders and kitchen ware above.
Jewelry
Here, look for Disney jewelry for the young and young at heart. Unlike some jewelry found at Disney, prices here are reasonable for fun fashion pieces.
Toys
Whether you’re looking for plushies, Disney games, or puzzles, you’ll find a huge selection here. These items are a great way to bring your vacation home with you.
Final Thoughts
If you’re at or near Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, please check out the Mercantile. The Native American and American frontierland theming of the resort extend to this store. Not only does it have wonderful merchandise, but look for the amazing attention to detail here.
