Want to race through the parks? What could be more fun than running down Main Street USA?

I know I can’t wait to! I (Heather) will be participating in the Half Marathon over Marathon Weekend! Any others from the pirate crew will be racing?

First runDisney race? Check out my FIVE must have carry on guide. Also, be sure to read what every runDisney runner should know.

Getting in a shake out run before race day? Read HERE for where you can and can’t run around Disney World.

You can try, but you won’t find any races that compare to runDisney events. They are by far my favorite!

Disney races have entertainment with characters and magic at every mile. What better time to start planning your next vacation (better yet race-cation) than now!

The best part about runDisney races is that runners of all abilities can participate. Several distances available make these races fun for all!

I know I was anxiously waiting to hear when the official dates were. They usually are around the same time every year, but lately anything goes!

Not ready to travel or can’t make the race? Virtual races are still available! I have done a couple of these virtual races.

Both In-person and virtual races will continue to be an option for runners!

As always, runDisney has great swag, but to me, it’s not the same race experience. I do find virtual races are a great motivator to stay on my training plan.

Be sure to mark your calendars! Here are the dates:

  • 2022 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend powered by AfterShokz – November 3 – 6, 2022
  • 2023 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend – January 4 – 8, 2023
  • 2023 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by CORKCICLE- February 23 – 26, 2023
  • 2023 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend – April 13 – 16, 2023

Are you planning on running next year? Let us know on the Kenny the Pirate Facebook page. Don’t forget to join the KtP crew page too!

I agree with Joyce above, all Disney cares about is the money they will take in. When they brought the annual passes back they were more and with them taking away pictures and fast track. Also there are no trams no running so you have to walk a mile just to get to ticket center. Think of all these young children and elderly people having to walk. I can see someone having a serious medical problem brought on by walking. It was the happiest place on earth. Way to go disney and enjoy your big fat bonuses thank to the public.

Again Disney doesn't think of the guests! "Run Disney Springtime surprise weekend" will be a NIGHTMARE for all guests. Easter is Sunday April 9 2023. Does Disney realize this will over crowd all the parks even more than a holiday normally does ?? What about families with young children being forced to go that week so their children will not miss any school? Disney's race starts on Thursday of that week, meaning many people will go down there starting the weekend of Easter. What about the runners and their families they will be pressured to get on as many of the rides and RESERVE Park days before the race starts. This will force more people to use Disney's over priced Genie+ and whatever that other outrageously expensive ticket is called.
