Great news regarding the Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish. Today, Disney unveiled the lucky character that will be the whimsical artwork on the bow of the Disney Wish.

In 2016, Disney Cruise Line announced that it would build two ship.
The two unnamed ships are to be larger than Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy but with an equivalent number of staterooms.
A third ship of the class was announced on July 15, 2017 at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California.
The Disney Wish will have 1250 staterooms.
Originally, it was set to sail on its maiden voyage on January 2022. However, due to the pandemic, the newest sailing date is projected for June 2022.
We are so much closer to the sailing date and therefore it makes sense as to the many new announcements regarding the ship that is to come in the near future!
A Big Milestone Has Been Reached
During the construction of a ship, one of its significant milestones is marked by the traditional keel laying ceremony.
What does that mean exactly?
During a ship’s construction, when the first block, or section of a ship, is lowered into the building dock, a newly minted coin is placed under the keel for good fortune. The coin created for the Disney Wish features none other than … you guessed it, Captain Minnie!
The “hallmark” of all the Disney Cruise Line vessels include the beautiful, elegant and intrinsic bow’s filigree art.
It is reminiscent of the classic ocean liners of the 1930’s.
The lucky Disney character to be featured on the bow is none other than Captain Minnie Mouse!

Captain Minnie first arrived to commandeer the Disney ships in 2019 as part of the initiative to inspire the next generation of female leaders within the cruise industry.
Therefore, it is appropriate and perfect that Captain Minnie will be represented at the helm of the Disney Wish!
