Unfortunately, the sad news keeps rolling in tonight. More of our favorite entertainment actors are being laid off. Read on for more information.

Entertainment Layoffs

Tonight we learned of several fan favorite entertainment shows will not be returning anytime soon. Unfortunately, Disney has made the difficult decision to layoff these actors.

We reported earlier tonight that these entertainment options would not be returning for now due to the layoffs. Click on the link for information regarding each show. Here is a list of shows affected:

It is unknown if and when these shows will return. I am so sad losing these unique entertainment options. I feel this is what makes Disney so special and stand out among other theme parks.

Disney’s Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue takes place at Disney’s For Wilderness Campground. It is known to be one of the country’s longest-running dinner shows, running for over 45 years!

Guests would enjoy 2 hours of Wild West dancing, comedy, and singing from the Pioneer Hall Players. As stated on Disney’s website:

You never know what to expect when Claire de Lune, Johnny Ringo, Dolly Drew, Six Bits Slocum, Flora Long and Jim Handy hit the stage. But you do know that it’s not going to be dull! Get ready to clap your hands, stomp your feet, sing along and have a good ol’ time at rustic Pioneer Hall in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Dinner theater guests would enjoy buckets of all-you-care-to-enjoy fried chicken and smoked BBQ pork ribs, tossed green salad, baked beans, fresh-baked cornbread and strawberry shortcake. For guests over 21 years of age unlimited draft beer, wine and sangria are included (proper ID required). Soft drinks are also included.

More Layoffs

It has just been reported that the entire cast of Disney’s Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue was also impacted by the newest round of layoffs. This show has been dark since the closure of Disney World. I really hope to see this show return in the future.

I know I am deeply saddened by this new round of layoffs. What do you think about this new round of layoffs? Have you been to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue? Did you love the show? Let us know on the Kenny the Pirate Facebook page. Don’t forget to join the KtP crew page too!

i agree that it is sad....even heartbreaking....but my daughter is a cast member who is still employed there, and they need our support as well. as long as california remains a freaking mess and dl isn't allowed to reopen, wdw is going to cut to help offset the revenue losses. for wdw to open hoop back up, so many tables would need to be removed to ensure the social distancing guidelines....it just wouldn't make economical sense paying the actors and all of the staff to run the show. unfortunately, this is very, very sad no matter which way you look at it. praying they get to come back at some point, and these shows aren't gone forever!!!

No!! The actors are what make Disney so special! Festival of the Lion King was my absolute favorite show. I am so saddened to hear that Disney is now laying off actors. When will this nightmare end?

I like the rides but I'm primarily a show and event Disney fan. I am so sad by the news that appears that Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue may be cancelled. Our family loves seeing it when we stay at the Wilderness Lodge. My daughter will be heartbroken if Finding Nemo is gone. It is her favorite show in any of the parks. I really do feel that the shows & the street performers are a significant part of what makes Disney magical. I really do hope these shows do return. :-(

Im going to Universal next summer to enjoy Hagrid Motorbike and new Velocicoaster! Im sooo excited! They have it going on unlike Disney! I wont be going back until prices go down and all shows and magic come back. If they cant get it together soon then we will stick to Universal! Disney should be ashamed as much money as they have made in the last 5 years alone!
