Disney revealed their big plans to expand Disney Cruise Line with three new cruise ships.
Many may remember Disney announcing two new cruise ships last year but, they outdid themselves this year by announcing another cruise ship!
All three ships will be built in Germany, at the Meyer Werft, and will be approximately the same size. They will be built at about 135,000 gross tons and have around 1,250 guest staterooms.
The first ship should be completed by 2021, followed by the second in 2022, and the third in 2023.
The ships have not yet been named and the interior designs are still being developed. As time draws closer to the completion dates, we will know even more about what exciting things we might expect from these ships.
Bob Chapek says
We decided two ships wouldn’t be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney.
It sounds like they are really trying to put a unique spin on each ship and create an unforgettable atmosphere throughout the entire Disney Cruise Line.
