It appears that Gi-tar Dan, the beloved musical comedian act will be cut from Disney’s Animal Kingdom soon.
Gi-tar Dan entertained guests in Camp Minnie Mickey for many years before being moved to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. His mixture of campfire guitar songs and on-the-fly comedy resonated with park guests. He could make up a song about anything or anyone with only a few seconds notice.
It appears that his last performance will be on Friday, March 11, 2016.

One by one Disney is getting rid of the things that made their parks stand out
We always have him sing a song for us or the grandkids every trip
I hope they come to their senses soon and keep him

I'm so sad to hear this... we love him, always a highlight of our trip and many magical memories created by him for our family.

Does anyone have contact information such as a facebook or twitter account where we can follow and support him?

Aww, was really looking forward to meeting him this year, we usually never make it all the way to Rafiki's Planet. I just found him on a list of things to check out in Animal Kingdom.

He sang to my granddaughter once and she still talks about it because the song was about her. Her song. He will be missed. He is what makes Disney World so special. It's the amazing talent and artistry.
