Meeting the Old Hag in human form at Disneyland Paris

Meeting the Old Hag in human form at Disneyland Paris

One of the many highlights of my October Disneyland Paris trip was the opportunity to meet the Old Hag or Witch from Snow White.  At this special meet and greet during the days of October, she met in human form.  I had met the cartoon version at Villains Unleashed and at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but hadn’t had the chance to meet the human version.

I was visiting for the 3 days of Halloween, which are crazy busy and this villains meet behind the Sleeping Beauty Castle was REALLY popular.  People literally push and shove to try to get to the Disney movie characters.  The final decision which people will meet them is left to the character which usually calls for the person to come have a photo made with them.

Well, I was really new to Disneyland Paris character meets and didn’t want to pass this one chance to meet her.  As soon as they concluded their little jaunt around the center vined dragon area, I leaped at the chance.  I jumped up beside her and scared her.  Funny, huh?  Didn’t know you could startle a Disney villain.  She sort of pushed me away until I politely apologized and explained that I came thousands of miles to meet her.  She relented and allowed me to have a photo made with her.

This meet gave me a new insight into how many of the meet and greets would be through this 3 day trip with all the pushing and shoving and cursing and autograph books being handed over people.  It was an odd experience for one who lives in Orlando, and has traveled to Anaheim and Hong Kong as well as doing a couple of Disney cruises.

NOTE:  Don’t go to Disneyland Paris expecting to meet her, because she was ONLY out for the special Halloween celebration in October.

I prefer lines for characters, as otherwise it can be a bit difficult. The crowding (instead of regular lines) took place at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea when I went in 2013, for Daisy Duck and Chip/Dale. It also happened for Aurora and Philip, but Philip was nice enough to semi-organize and decide the next couple of guests they were going to see next. It sometimes takes place at Universal Studios Singapore too, especially in the Ancient Egypt section of the park.

Hmmm...and Americans are told they're rude? Pushing and shoving doesn't sound like fun, and actually sounds a bit scary with a lot of little kids around. Thanks for sharing!

Only time I experienced rudeness in Europe was at character meets. It becomes a free-for-all
