Magic Kingdom 8:00am openings and character appearances

6

I’ve had many questions lately concerning the Magic Kingdom’s 8:00 am standard (non Extra Magic Hours) openings and which characters appear during that 8:00-9:00 time frame.  Here’s a list of characters that SHOULD (all appearances subject to change without notice) appear on a regular 8:00 am opening day.

8:00 am
Marie and/or Pluto
Mickey Mouse
Princesses in Town Square Theater
Pete’s Silly Sideshow

8:15 am
Stitch
Tinker Bell and Periwinkle

8:20 am
Alice in Wonderland and/or White Rabbit
Mary Poppins
Snow White
Main Street Trolley Show

8:30 am
Fairy Godmother
Peter Pan

8:45 am
Citzens of Main Street

Merida begins meeting every day at 9:15am regardless of opening time.

  1. We were pleasantly surprised to find Tinker Bell and Periwinkle available at around 8:45 on a 8:00 opening a couple of Saturdays ago. Only had to wait for one family in front of us who were already meeting with the characters. So glad we didn’t wait in the 45 minute line the day before! We also met Stitch as he came out for the day with no-one around. What a great interaction. We were with him for about 10 minutes before another family came up for his attention. Peter Pan had a line at 8:30 but we saw him with a small wait and moved on to the Nook. Marie’s line at around 11:00am was absurd. We waited over 45 minutes for her on our way out of the park. I don’t think we ever even had to wait to see her at Epcot!

  2. I can confirm Kenny The Pirate’s listing as I recently did MK at 8:00 am and used his guide times. Peter Pan was a few minutes late but he showed up.

  3. So much for my coveted 8:00 pre-rope drop character breakfast ADR at CP in April. Will the restaurants start opening one hour earlier too?
