I think your Hollywood and vine information is incorrect. Disney jr characters are at breakfast. They changed lunch to Minnie and friends.
http://www.characterlocator.com has that information correctly displayed. I haven’t updated this post in a while, but will. Thanks
If you could choose only one- two character meals which would you choose? I have a 7 year old girl and 4 year old boy?
Chef Mickey, Hollywood and Vine, 1900 Park Fare Breakfast and Crystal Palace would be fun choices
I wondered how long you thought it would take us to eat at Akershus for breakfast. Have an 8:05 reservation on 8/28 and obviously trying to get to Frozen ever after from there. I thought that if we were there before our reservation we could be out in a little less than an hour, but now I am a little unsure about that.
Do you know how many different outfits they rotate through at Hollywood and Vine? When my friends were there in December it was Christmas-themed (the outfits are not the same as what they wear at VMCP). When I went January 23 it was “Minnie’s Silver Screen Dine” (red carpet-inspired) and obviously at some point in Springtime there are the outfits you list. Are there any others?
4 different seasons
Thank you! WE have breakfast reservations before the park opens at MK and EPCOT. How early before our reservations can we get into the park? Neither of the days are the extra hours days. Also, is there a special gate we go through to get in early?
They open gate shortly before 8am for those. There will be one location at each park to enter
According to your website Tusker House dinner is a character meal. I thought I had read somewhere else it was not. I just did a Disney chat and they said characters were only at Tusker House for Breakfast and lunch. Do you have updated info? I only chose it because of the characters. Thanks! Love your site.
Both of those are wrong. Tusker House dinner IS a character meal
If you had the choice of going to O’hana or The Crystal Palace, which would you pick?? Have reservations at both, but need to cancel one. Thanks!
Depends upon the characters you desire, but I’d prefer ‘Ohana.
Hello Kenny!
We are considering an available Hollywood & Vine dinner for September…When we dined for breakfast there in November 2014, the Disney Jr characters were very interactive, lead conga lines and danced with the children. Can we expect the same out of the Mickey crew for dinner?? Considering skipping the rush of Chef Mickey’s breakfast and choosing this. Thoughts?
No neither meal offers that fun stuff now. Just food and characters
That’s a shame. Thank you for the reply!
Contempory-Chef Mickey. You mention character for breakfast and dinner but nothing about brunch. We have only had dinner there before but I wanted to try brunch there. Is there characters for the brunch? thanks
Characters are there when they offer Brunch during Free Dining
Do you know if Nov 5, 2016 is part of the Free Dining date or is there a way to find out? My reservation is made with military discount not free dining. Thank you
Kenny, DId you meet Belle in her Holiday dress at Akershus around Christmas? Do you think she still meets in that outfit during that time of year? Also, do you know when Fort Wilderness has special characters (which holidays)? Thank you! Love your site!
Christmas week only. Halloween, Easter and Christmas offer resort characters
Where can I find actual prices for character meals? I see ranges, but no exact costs.
Hi Kenny! I see that the tea party with princess Aurora is in the dining plan….
Including the doll, gifts etc?? Or how does it work? Thanks!!!
Aurora Tea Party isn’t included in dining plan.
The list above states the My Disney Girl’s Tea Party with Aurora is included in the Dining Plan.
Corrected thanks!
Is there anywhere I can still find the little einsteins my son is a huge fan 2015
No, they are now retired
Where can I see Mulan for dining character.
Mulan is random at Akershus, but has an in park meet at Epcot
You should go to the Hilton breakfast on Sunday to make a review. Please reply. You do not have to go.
We have plans on sunday, but welcome your review
can you do it another time maybe after the holidays
Do you have to be staying at the hotels (Buena Vista Palace – Downtown Disney, Four Seasons – Four Seasons Hotel,
Garden Grove – Swan & Dolphin, Hilton – Downtown Disney) in order to enjoy their character dining options?
No
We’ve gone to the Hilton Sunday morning breakfast twice now. Food was great! Character interaction was wonderful and we got to see the characters twice. The only negative was that if you don’t get there when they first open you will wait approximately 30 minutes or so for a table. Also a positive is that it’s right across the street from Disney Springs and the bus stops.
I’m curious what the Hilton’s Sunday breakfast costs are? Comparing it individually to their “stay & deals” the first day in town.
We’ve decided to add Epcot to our trip this September and will be there 9/23. The Garden Grill is fully booked, but I read on another forum that it might be possible to walk up early around 4 pm when they open for dinner and get in. There are two adults and three kids in our family. Have you heard of anyone getting in this way?
I’d say it’s unlikely, but you can always try
Do you know if you need a reservation to go to this breakfast at the Hilton?
Thanks
We’ve gone twice and they don’t accept reservations. It’s first come, first served.
Hey KTP! I’m thinking about running over to Hilton for a Sunday breakfast while on our trip! I see that Minnie will be there bc it’s listed on Hilton’s website. Are the two Brers the other surprise characters? Or do you think they rotate with other lesser hard to find characters?? We are going in a few months and I wanted your input.
Typically, yes
I have reservations for our last day in Florida Sept. 27th at both 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey. I originally picked 1900 Park Fare because I figured we’d see Mickey around the parks plenty and 1900 would have characters we may not see. But then I made the reservation at Chef Mickey bc I really can’t make up my mind about anything! HELP…Do you think we’ll see Mary Poppins or the Mad Hatter etc around the parks? Which would be the better experience for a 17, 14, 10, & 8 yr old?
Mad Hatter, no. Mary Poppins yes. Use http://www.characterlocator.com for all your character needs.
@kennythepirate I’m confused about on Be Our Guest if it’s character dining or not at night. Some say yes, others say no that it’s “themed dining” and for it to be character dining the character would walk around and come to the tables.
Also, on the Disney Character dining site it shows only 16 restaurants to be character dining https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/#/character-dining/ and they only list 16 restaurant. Please if you could shed some clarity on Be Hour Guest restaurant at night what it truly is considered.
DINNER only offers Beast.
I was thinking the same thing. Can you confirm which restaurant at the bonnet creek that offers character dining? Thanks
also wondering if characters at bonnet creek is still a thing? can’t find the info anywhere on the internet…
Yes
You’re the man Kenny!
Are Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy all always at Tusker house for dinner now?
Yes
I was able to grab a 9:30 reservation at Be Our Guest for late next month. Your character locator says the Beast is there until 9:30. Are we going to be able to get our picture with him? We ate lunch there last time and are having lunch again this next time too. The main reason we want to go to dinner is to get our pic with the Beast. thx!
Yes, he remains until everyone’s meal is completed. 9:30 is the last reservation time.
What about Liberty Tree Tavern? I thought it was a character meal
Nope, stopped being a character meal a couple years ago. All are listed here.
Hi, I was just wondering since this was posted last year, do Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox still show up regularly at the Hilton? And if so, for the character breakfast do you HAVE to be staying at the Hilton or can you just go to DTD and get breakfast there?
Yes they appear and no you don’t have to stay there
When our family went to Chef Mickey’s last time we saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. Since then I saw on another website that the current characters were Mickey, Goofy and Chip and Dale. Has this changed? Or was this temporary and they are back to the “Fab 5”?
Haven’t heard about Chip n Dale returning there. Could be old data?
Do the characters still go to Bonnet Creek? If so, same days as mentioned above? Thank you!
Yes
Does br’er bear and br’er fox always appear at the hilton for breakfast on Sundays?
Yes
So I’m actually a cast member at Walt Disney World and I work at Cinderella’s Royal Table. The Fairy Godmother no longer makes appearrences at the restaurant and neither does Belle. Cinderella is the only Princess that we are guaranteed to have.
Thanks Katrina. I updated this on the app side, but not here. I appreciate the heads up and will correct it now.
I checked and I didn’t have Belle on any of the lists, but I removed Fairy Godmother since you said she doesn’t ever appear any longer.
Jeepers! Who’s butt do you have to kiss to get a table at Cinderella’s Royal Table? I have a special needs daughter and can’t get a spot coming up this Jan. 27-29 th!!
From what I have read you need to make reservations 180 days out for Cinderella’s royal table.
Or use our new Dining Locator that we call Fetch. He’ll be in Beta testing soon
Is Sophia a walk around character in addition to dining? We are going in May 2014 and are trying to limit character meals to 2 and get the best character bang for our buck. 5yo is in love with princesses of course so based on your blog we are trying to go with Askerhus for breakfast and 2yo would love traditional characters like Minney, Mickey, etc. and I think we will try to go to the dining for lunch a different day at Animal kingdom. Any other suggestions?
Sofia joins dining at Hollywood and Vine on Jan 26. She meets daily outside Disney Jr as well. Check Characters > Hollywood Studios or use my app for the times.
Akershus, Chef Mickey’s and Tusker House along with Hollywood and Vine
Thank you! I thought I saw on your blog somewhere (Awhile back) that there is a dining location that is less popular/busy but great to see Mickey, et. al. Is that Tusker House or somewhere else?
Love your site by the way (And I’ve been to Disney twice as an adult and still learning new stuff from you!)
Tusker House for lunch tends to be the easiest reservation for Mickey
Good luck with that! I’ve called three times, gotten a confused – I don’t think so, let me connect you here…. and then a voice mail with never a reply. I’m hoping Wyndham, as I have many guests that stay there.
I’ll drive by then. I had a terrible experience with them once, so certainly won’t stay there again.
Kenny- I’m having a hard time finding confirmation of any character breakfast at any Wyndham property, much less Wyndham Bonnet Creek specifically. I’ve confirmed the Hilton Buena Vista, BuenaVista Palace, And of course Garden Grove. But– nary a whisper on any Wyndham or any Bonnet Creek properties.
Help?
It was there this summer. I guess I’ll need to call. It was wyndham bonnet creek location only
How up-to-date is the list of character meal appearances? Going in October 2013 and wondering if it’s still the same?
Everything is up to date
FYI, Donald is not at backyard BBQ, except for special holiday editions (like 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving) when they add a bunch of other extra characters too. Regular set is just mickey, minnie, goofy, chip, dale.
Hey Kenny,
I was trying to find some info for “Be Our Guest” but can’t find it on your site. Any idea what kind of food they serve, is there a show, etc…?
Thanks again :)
French inspired food. No show. Beast will walk through the restaurant occasionally then take his place near the exit. It’s Table Service and requires reservation. I’ll have menus and such in the future. We have that info in our new app.
Kenny, Have you heard anything about the Hollywood and Vine Character meal changing characters? Also is there any news about bringing Doc McStuffins and Sohia out for meet and greets?
Sophia will begin making meets soon. It’s possible that she could join the HV lineup. Doc McStuffins isn’t even a walk around character yet.
On Sun, Apr 28, 2013 at 4:08 PM, Kennythepirate's Disney Character
Does the Pirates and Pals have “dining?” I’m confused based on the information on the Disney site. Can you help me? :)
Snacks basically. If you click that link, I have a full review.
The disneyworld website says that chip and dale are at chef mickeys breakfast. Anyone seen this?
I’ve met them there before but not on our last couple of visits.
Kenny – First – thank you for providing this very useful info, your website really helped with my planning our trip last year. Never heard of characterpalozza before I found your site!! Thank you!
Got a question or two about where to find Belle in her yellow ball gown in the MK. Is she only in Fantasy Land at Storytime w/Belle? Also, is she no longer at CRT in her blue dress? One more question – which princesses are meeting at Town Square now? Thanks again :)
Belle in gold gown is only at Enchanted Tales and Akershus. She does not appear at CRT any longer. Rapunzel, Aurora and Cinderella are regulars in Town Square Theater and are on the Magic Kingdom schedule. You’re welcome! KtP
Thanks for your quick response. We are going in July & DD7 wants to pick a princess dress for BBB & diner at CRT.

What is the best restaurent for celebrate birthday?
Don’t know, that one’s up to your preference
you lost beauty in royal table!
She’s not there any more
Hey, Ho…. what’s this about Wyndham Bonnet Creek character interaction? Can you elaborate? We’ll be there in 59 days….. =D
It’s one of the few character meals I’ve never attended. I’ll check it out this weekend for ya.
That’d be great! thanks!
Just a word of advice for those booking Princess meals. I’ve never been to Askershus, but we had breakfast at the castle right at 8 on my sisters sweet sixteen earlier this month. The character interaction was TERRIBLE. Cinderella and Ariel were okay and I honestly don’t remember a single thing that happened with Aurora and Snow White, other than Snow White left after only taking one picture that didn’t turn out very well. Belle was great, though.
Over all, it was probably my least pleasant character dining experience, interactionwise. It’s worth it to go and eat inside the castle once, but I don’t think I’d ever go back.
From what I’ve heard Askershus is better for character interactions. And there’s so many other great character dining experiences, usually with better food! (Which was just okay, by DIsney standards.)
I’m sorry you had a bad experience. We’ve only done breakfast there a number of times and quite enjoyed the meal and the princesses were very accomodating for us. Always feel free to request the manager if things are going as you wish, he or she will try to accomodate you. Thanks for sharing though!
As for the food, I’m not terribly fond of most WDW dining experiences.
Hello! My daughter, Aurora, loves Sleeping Beauty. I booked the Akershaus breakfast. Do you know for certain if Aurora goes there?
*twitch* *twitch*. ‘Ohana. Not O’hana. It’s Polynesian, not Irish. :-)
We have a breakfast scheduled at Cinderella’s Castle June 1. Our reservation is at 8:20, park doesn’t open until 9…do you know how that works? Also, our confirmation says “Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Jasmine” as confirmed Princesses…does this mean the others you named above will not appear? Any information you have is appreciated. I love this site…very helpful. Thanks for providing it!
Michelle,
Congrats on your first CRT breakfast! It’s our favorite meal there. You’ll be able to enter the park as early as 7:45 am with that reservation, which will give you time to take photos with the castle. They will have one gate marked for character meals, you just enter there. Make your way up through the castle and you’ll find crt on the right as you are about to exit. Check in there and enjoy breakfast. You get one free photo package for 1-4 people and 5-9 so on.
The first three princessses are pretty much a given, the fourth character rotates, so no guarantee as to who it will be.
Have fun!
KtP
Thank you for the information. When I made the reservation, I did not even think about the Park being near empty and all the great photo ops that would afford us on our ‘leisurely’ stroll to the castle. Great to know about the princesses as well. Our daughter wants to meet them all, so if we can see 4 all at once, that helps our time situation immensely. Thanks again!
Thank you for compiling this info in one place! However, there are a couple of small errors: Minnie does not appear at Tusker, Pluto does not appear at the BBQ, but Peter Pan does appear at P&P. H&V is breakfast and lunch only, no dinner.
I forgot to mention, Garden Grove is not a Disney Restaurant… so if you want to include other Operating Participants; Buena Vista Place has Goofy, Minnie, Pluto for Sun Breakfast; Hilton has Br’er Bear, Br’er Fox, Minnie and Pluto for Sun Breakfast; Garden Grove has Chip, Dale, Goofy, Pluto for Sun Breakfast and Goofy, Pluto for Sat Breakfast; Wyndham has Goofy and Pluto for Tue/Thur/Sat Breakfast.
Hi, I’ve heard that Jasmine appears a lot at Akershus also.. or is this no longer the case? Thanks!
Jasmine does often appear at Akershus
Question, is Minnie at Tusker House lunch? Under the Character Meals tab, Minnie isn’t listed, but on the Minnie section under the Master List, Tusker House as shown as a location for her. We have an ADR at @ TH, and I’m just trying to determine if I also need to make time for Camp Mickey & Minnie to see Minnie. Thanks!
Natalie, unfortunately Minnie hasn’t been meeting at Tusker House lately, but you can find her at Camp! I’ll fix the lists this weekend. Thanks!
Thanks! :)
On WDW web site, they say that Hollywood and Vine has characters only at breakfast and lunch. Is dinner also part of the character meal ? Bt te way, AMASING blog !
…*by the way*… :)
Thanks Anna! Yes, the characters are at Hollywood & Vine for breakfast and lunch.
The Garden Grove Restaurant at the Swan and Dolphin also offers character meals with Goofy and Pluto. In 2010 we enjoyed a good quality meal in a very low key setting (compared to other character meals such as Chef Mickey).
You’re correct! I’ll add that to the character meals.
Tusker House is/soon offering a character lunch. We’ve scheduled one for our trip in mid-February 2012. FYI!
Yes we did that on our trip last week. It was a bit odd as they offered breakfast and lunch foods
