Many dream of becoming a Disney Park Annual Passholder so that they can visit the Disney Parks any time they want. The truth is that there are still several rules in place limiting when Annual Passholders may visit.

At both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, Annual Passholders must still make Park Reservations. For example, at Walt Disney World, each Annual Passholder tier has a select number of Park Reservations that they can reserve at a time:

  • Disney Pixie Dust Pass: Up to 3 reservations at a time
  • Disney Incredi-Pass: Up to 5 reservations at a time
  • Disney Sorcerer Pass: Up to 5 reservations at a time
  • Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations at a time

Occasionally, Walt Disney World will offer "Bonus Reservations" that will not count against the total number of Park Reservations that an Annual Passholder may use. See the newest "Bonus Reservations" HERE.

Many feel that Park Reservations are unnecessary and just yet another hurdle that Annual Passholders have to jump through. At Disneyland, Magic Key Holders are also limited in how many Park Reservations that they may reserve at a time within a 90 day booking window:

  • Inspire Key: Up to 6 reservations at a time
  • Believe Key: Up to 6 reservations at a time
  • Explore Key: Up to 4 reservations at a time
  • Imagine Key: Up to 2 reservations at a time

For years, Disneyland Magic Key Holders also had a "No-Show Penalty". If they failed to tap into the Disney Park for which they held a Park Reservation, they would be penalized. If they received 3 "No-Show Penalties" within 90 days, they could receive a 30-day block to make and/or modify a Park Reservation.

Starting today, October 7, 2026, the "No-Show Penalty" is finally removed for all Magic Key Holders.

Magic Key Holders can now cancel and/or modify their existing Park Reservation up to 11:59 pm (PT) on the day of their Park Reservation.

It is important to note that Park Reservations are limited. Disney highly recommends that you make your theme park reservation as soon possible.

  1. This is a step in the right direction. I am hoping for a return to the days of full Parks access on any day permitted by the Tier level of your particular AP.
