The Biggest Surprise Ever at EPCOT

Rare Disney Characters

One thing that sets Disney apart from any other theme park is the great character interactions. We love meeting classic characters like Mickey Mouse and the Fab 5.

But then we also love meeting the characters that are a bit rarer. Epcot is home to many more rare meet-and-greets, including characters in the World Showcase, Imagination Pavilion, and World Celebration.

For example, Guests can meet and interact with Star-Lord, get his autograph, and maybe dance with him to some cool tunes near the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction.

Cosmic Rewind "September"

Yesterday, September 21, 2026, was a BIG day at EPCOT. Guests braved a 3+ hour wait throughout the day to enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Why the huge wait? As in previous years, "September" was played on repeat on Monday, September 21, 2026. At one point, it looked as thought the line for "Lightning Lane" was the standby queue because of how long the line was.

Also exclusive to September 21, 2026, Connections Cafe offered "The Supernova Sip".

Groot at EPCOT

While Guests packed into EPCOT to ride Cosmic Rewind with "September" playing on repeat and to try "The Supernova Sip", Disney offered the BEST surprise.

Star-Lord was joined by Gamora and Groot in the outdoor queue for Cosmic Rewind. As Guests waited, they could interact with all three Guardians of the Galaxy characters.

September 21, 2026, Star-Lord, Groot, and Gamora greeted Guests at Cosmic Rewind.
