In the summer of 2025, our once-perfect Walt Disney World received a villainous makeover. Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Sunset Boulevard was transformed with the addition of "Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After".
Disney describes this show as "A spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale-where you help decide who has been treated most unfairly.
At the end of the show, Disney Guests make noise to proclaim which villain is most misunderstood for their villainous deeds: Cruella de Ville, Captain Hook, or Maleficent.
Disney Villains Show Stops Abruptly
As with most Disney entertainment, "Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After" has several moving pieces with live performers, large props, video screens, the list goes on and on.
Recently, Guests were enjoying "Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After" and had just watched Cruella explain why she was the most misunderstood. The curtains lowered, and Guests were informed, "Your attention, please. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this performance of 'Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After' must be canceled."
Guests were instructed to gather their belongings and exit the theater safely. After the announcement, you could hear a collective groan from the audience. Thanks to @smooremagic for sharing:
Villains Show Evacuation
Disney did not elaborate on what "unforeseen circumstances" led to this abrupt cancellation. The comments mention that Cruella's microphone may have had technical issues, but it is unclear if this led to the entire show being canceled.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, "Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After" closed unexpectedly.
We have seen similar abrupt stops in other stage shows, such as Fantasmic!, Disney parades, and Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire. Although this is frustrating for Guests, Disney places a high priority on ensuring the safety and quality of each live performance throughout the Disney Parks.
